I was spoken down to when I checked in because I "booked through Expedia". I should have "booked directly with the hotel"
After that encounter, I was given a room that had a strong unpleasant odour. A staff member was sent to check it and he insisted I be moved. The new room was very clean.
Housekeeping entered my room even though I had my Do Not Disturb sign on the door.
Whilst the front desk staff weren't great, the restaurant and maintenance staff that I encountered were wonderful

Large, comfortable bed.
Outdated room decor and bathroom, aircon unit old, limited wall sockets to charge phones/accessories etc.

We were in Braidwood for a family wedding and the location was perfect - between the church and the reception, close to cafes and shops. The house itself was clean and spacious and well equipped. We would definitely recommend and were only sorry we didn’t stay longer.
