If it's your first time traveling during COVID-19, you'll notice plenty of new restrictions and rules in place. Follow these tips and make your escape to Black Isle a smooth one:

• Before you book a flight, find out if any travel restrictions or bans apply — in both your destination and origin. Get the latest updates by reviewing government and travel websites.
• When you go through airport screening, keep your face mask on. You will be asked to briefly lower it to confirm your identity. Travelers who refuse to wear a face mask may be fined and denied boarding.
• Do not hand your boarding pass (electronic or paper) directly to a TSA employee. Rather, you should position the pass on the reader and then hold it up for inspection.
• One liquid hand sanitizer container is now permitted in your carry-on luggage. It must not be larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to remove it from your bag for screening.
• Empty your personal items from your pocket, like your phone and wallet, and put them in your carry-on rather than into bins. This will minimize handling during the screening process.
• Transport any food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Keeping food separate from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA employee will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
