「Beautiful location in a traditional thatched cottage village. Full of character with two cosy fireplaces. The staff were beyond kind and super friendly. The food was absolutely amazing. First class cuisine from chef Nico, with great range of spirits including many local brands.」

「A character historic pub in a nice rural location, although roads are very Devon and narrow in places! Very welcoming and friendly staff. Good food and service with a selection of beers with real ale under gravity from the cask. Very popular with diners on a Saturday night. Room reflected the nature of the property but was clean and comfy. Good selection and quality for breakfast. Went with trad English but kippers and salmon on offer.」

「The food was absolutely top notch, dinner was amazing. Sadly the room, bathroom could most definitely need a complete renovation. The pool, has the lining coming loose, and the jacuzzi had too many chemicals in,and the handrail looks as if it has not been cleaned for ages. Staff were all very pleasant and extremely efficient.」

「受付の対応や朝ごはんの対応もよく美味しかった。」

「1 bed appt, perfect for my needs. Only quibble was sofa. Nice balcony over looking courtyard. Spa facility (pool, jacuzzi, steam room etc) was great, very clean and well run. Its a shame the restaurant wasn't running but as I had an appt with a kitchen it wasn't really a problem. Small shop on site open for 2 hrs each evening, and a temporary bar above the spa. Its a bit in the sticks but only 20 mins drive from Bideford. All the staff were friendly and helpful.」

「Thoroughly recommend. Lovely rural part of Devon, the hotel is set in its own well maintained grounds, which is excellent for dog walking, our room was clean and comfortable, as was the breakfast and dining area which were both well set out, with plenty of space to accommodate dogs. Food was great, varied and plentiful. All staff were polite, efficient, and attentive, which helped to create a pleasant and chilled atmosphere.」

「Comfortable and clean . Friendly staff especially Becky and Liv.Evening meal superb ,apparently chef Dave on duty when we stayed. It would have been better if staff knew what soup of the day was before taking orders ,a small detail but probably more professional. About 9 stairs up to the room ,staff did offer to help with suitcases .Car park is up a small hill but there is a drop off area to unload your suitcases to avoid having to walk down with them. Would return if only for the food.」

「Welcome was great with a cup of tea. Very friendly. Beautiful quiet, rural farm setting. Pet friendly. Totally suited our needs with easy access to Barnstaple, Instow, RHS Rosemoor.」

「Everything the hotel lacked wss completely made up by the excellent service offered by Margueite. Thank you for your efforts and understanding.」

「Shower was great (if small) and the homemade shortbread was a nice little touch my son enjoyed as part of his breakfast. The breakfasts were also really good. They were very flexible on items on the full English and the ingredients were good quality with proper sausages, thick bacon and thick slices of good bread. The two women working there were great and the service was excellent though. They told another guest they only took it on last year and are doing it up but they need to either do it...

「It was stepping in to beautiful history with the friendliest most accommodating staff around. Truly special and delicious food.」
