We had a lovely stay at the Hoops Inn. Our room at the back of the Inn was quiet, spacious and clean and the quality of the food (both dinner and at breakfast) was excellent.

Lovely hotel. Welcomed us & our dog. Excellent walking area at the back of the hotel for walking the dog. Had a Sunday roast which was as good as mine! Breakfast was so large, I didn’t have to eat again that day!

Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent gardens, delicious menu, good bar. The breakfast only starts at 8 - no good for visiting workers and the walk to the nearby beach is a bit of a nightmare.

Very pleasant

This place a very nice and full of history. We found our room very small for us and 2 dogs but was very hot. No fan in the room and nothing available when asked. Pleased we only stayed one night with the dogs. Would stay again as all staff very friendly and welcoming. Food including breakfast was very nice.

Had such a lovely time at the Hoops. All the staff were really friendly, we had an upgrade to our room which was really comfortable. Enjoyed eating and drinking in the bar, great choice of drinks and delicious food. Breakfast was outstanding, really good quality food. Will visit again. Thank you to the Hoops for transferring our booking due to the weather, we really enjoyed our stay with you.

My partner and I had a lovely welcome from the friendly bar lady. We were given room 12; mediocre, yet functional. Unfortunately it had a faint smell of urine emanating from the bathroom. The bed was clean and comfortable and the room had been heated well so we were not cold during a chilly October evening. Supper was great. I would recommend having a meal at the establishment. The bar staff are very friendly and the locals too. It has a sense of community about it which is a joy to see. Unfortunately our sleep was disturbed throughout the night. Firstly the doors slam shut and the noise resonates throughout the hall. Later at 2am, 4am & again at 6am we were listening to hotel workers moving some type of heavy object on wheels outside the grounds of the Inn. It is great to still see a working Inn, but at night when one needs to sleep is unacceptable. Breakfast is amazing. The variety and attention to dietary requirements / allergies. Service in the morning was excellent as it was the evening before. The staff there do a superb job. The Inn is a great place for entertaining. I would go again, but not to stay the night. One recommendation I would suggest is to place a jug of drinking water in the room. Tap water would suffice.

Cracking weekend stay

The Hoops is a very friendly well run pub/hotel. The staff & service was 2nd to none Food portions very generous & tasty Four different real ales on tap Rooms are cozy & comfy Definitely stay here again

Very friendly staff, great for dogs . Our room (2) was massive, so no shuffling around the bed as in a lot of places. Food good too. The dog enjoyed her sausage for breakfast.

The Inn was delightful and very well “modernized” ,yet still keeping the lovely old portions like a stained glass window in our room. We were disappointed with the service though. They were extremely busy at the time so perhaps that could explain. When the two rooms were booked well over a month ago we also booked dining for the evening. However, we were not seated at any of their pretty dining areas as they said it was all booked up. We were put at a table in the public bar area where a group were not dining but just drinking. The breakfast served in a lovely dining room was excellent— very generous portions as was the Sunday roast the previous evening.
