"We treated ourselves to a night here and got a really good room rate including an excellent breakfast. The room was comfortable and clean and well equipped. All the staff were super helpful. We also had dinner on arrival and the fixed menu deal was brilliant value. Would definitely come here again."

"A lovely boutique hotel right on the river Thames. Our room was lovely and cosy ; comfy bed and nice bath ( though there was a leak which we reported) ; It was lovely and quiet. Breakfast was ok - no fruit or GF cereal for a reason that did not stack up ; No GF sausages which is just lazy chefing ( I say this on many reviews) so a GF breakfast reduces to bacon egg and beans - not a problem but with a bit of thought , could be so much better at £15. Does not detract from the fact we would stay again"

"The host never responded to any text or chat messages from us once we were given his contact details three days prior to the booking. There was no email address only a mobile phone with no voice mail available to leave a message. Neither did he respond to any emails sent by Vrbo support. Vrbo did not have any additional information about the property apart from that on the website and did not allow the booking to be cancelled until we actually arrived at the property despite the complete lack of communication from the host. We arrived at the property and were unable to gain access.The neighbours had never heard of the host, his name was unknown to them as an owner of the property. It has not been available to rent for some time. It is advertised as a house but it is a downstairs apartment/flat. Added to which it was surrounded by scaffolding. We immediately rang Vrbo support who cancelled the booking and arranged an immediate refund of our money. We then had to find, at very short notice, alternative local accommodation as we needed to be in the immediate area that night to be near a relative. The whole experience was stressful since we were away from home prior to the start of the booking and were travelling a considerable distance with no information or assurance about the property and its access, since there was no communication from the host and Vrbo were unable to do anything about this.
