「A beautiful place to stay in fitting with the mansion tours.」

「Great resort, lovely views of the harbour and bridge. Very spacious, comfortable beds and plenty of free parking. Lovely staff would stay again. Only possible negative was no standard oven and the usual lack of a kettle which coming from the UK we are used to but we were able to heat water in the microwave so did not miss out on our cuppa!」

「Upon arrival we were immediately welcomed with polite staff, who upgraded our room to the pent house. It was an unexpected surprise that made our stay that much better, the suite was clean, delicious pastries were at our door each morning, accommodating food allergies. The location of the hotel is in walking distance to many shops and restaurants and provided off street parking. Can't wait to go back soon!! Give this 5 stars!!」

「Perfect location to stroll around Newport. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room we had, it felt more like an apartment than a room. Nicely updated space, amazingly comfortable bed, and more quiet than I expected for the location. 」

「We enjoyed staying within short walking distance to the free public transport to visit the mansion area. The staff were very friendly. The parking is $40 but convenient and close to the building. The view is mostly the city and a small amount of harbor but you can access a better view from the observation deck on two levels. 」

「The charm of Gardiner House is surely a draw, and there is something special about a hotel that offers even small amenities like water bottles or turndown service or daily cleaning of the room--these are lost luxuries for most hotels today! The room was clean and staff was so friendly. The location was fabulous, and the bar was gorgeous. 」

「The property consists of two rental units but this fact is not obvious from the pictures on the website. We did not get the rooftop deck with a view of the harbor. That belongs to the other unit. The sewer pipes are enclosed in the paper-thin walls of the first floor bedroom of our unit so every time someone flushes the toilet, uses the sink, takes a shower, you can hear water flowing through the pipes followed by loud clanging sound. Along with the loud music, people talking, chairs scraping...

「This is a cross between a hotel, a bed and breakfast, and an Airbnb. The room had a modern feel with a King-sized bed and a modern private bathroom with a shower stall - like a contemporary hotel. There is no front desk - similar to an Airbnb - although Randy and Lisa, the gracious and friendly hosts, were available whenever we needed them. Each morning, we were greeted with a wonderfully prepared breakfast of much higher quality than your typical hotel - what one would expect from a B&B.」
