This was a nice roadside motel. It was clean, the beds were comfy, and the shower pressure was great. The woman that checked me in was super nice. Great value for the price!

Very nice little motel. I am in Defiance once a month for 3 days . Wish I would have know about this motel many months ago. I will most definitely be makeing this Motel my go to instead of the Holliday Inn. Very nice staff and grounds. Room for a big truck to park and a nice pool.

The indoor pool was nice. They had a pingpong table and large indoor area to sit in. Staff was amazing and nice. Our room was clean, but it has the odor of a dog.

The room was clean and comfortable. But the door was hard to open due to poor fitment. The door seal was shot and allowed outside air and light to come through. The coffee maker had mold and hard water deposits so bad it took 20 minutes to run 1 cup of water through it.

This property needs some TLC. It's run down and out of date. The A/C was broken in my room. They had a mobile air conditioner placed in, but it was barely working. It would run for a few minutes then switch off. Each time it cycled, it shook the bed.

This is an older motel, but kept up well. There is a laundry for guests, the staff were excellent and very helpful. Nice place to stay and good price. I would atay here again if I'm ecer in the area.

I'll be honest. Sunset Motel is a very dated, humble place. It initially gives creepy vibes and little bit of anxiety. However, the people who run the motel are VERY kind and helpful, down to earth folks. Check-in was quick and easy. The rooms aren't frilly but the BEDS are possibly the most comfortable I've ever slept on. My kids enjoyed the swimming pool. My only true complaints: the shower head was really low on the wall- down to my chin and I'm not tall. The folks that stay here, possible all the time, hang out in the parking lot. Nothing crazy, just enjoying eachothers company with a few beers. I did have to ask them to keep it down, as they we're getting loud around 10:30pm. Overall: Was the affordable option in the area. We were visiting Chimney Rock and Carhenge and needed a place to rest before moving on to Mount Rushmore.

Little treasure off the beaten path

Highly recommend Sunset Motel. Friendly staff, awesome room, bed was amazing and room very clean. Will definitely be back. Price was right.

This is an old fashioned "motel", however one could stay at the Holiday Inn down the street for twice the price and have the exact same amenities.

A nice little hotel for a great price. Theres no reason you should pay 80-100 dollars a night for another hotel when the sunset offers the same rooms and amenities for much less. Love the staff, and the way the business is conducted. Nice little place.
