The facilities are great, with a decent gym, indoor and outdoor pool and it sits next to the largest spa in Portugal. Food options were great too, we loved the breakfasts and evening buffet. "Had a lovely few days at the Dom Jose as a solo female visitor. I felt very comfortable sitting in the lounge in the evenings, particularly when there was live music. The breakfasts were great and the bar snacks were great value. I didn't have dinner. I have two small criticisms regarding the room 1 Do people really need that enormous tv? A mirror over the dressing table would be more useful. Also a second chair is needed if there are two in the room. 2 Why is it so difficult to find out the Wifi code? I tried the one that comes up on the tv but of course it didn't work so i ended up going to reception in my pyjamas, only to be told the code was hidden in the key card wallet Finally, I read somewhere online that hotel guests are charged a fee to use the hotel sunbeds on the hotel beach. This is not something i experienced personally as i was there in January, but i really hope it's not true as that would seem a very mean thing to do. Surely guests have paid.for the use of hotel facilities."
