I booked this hotel one day prior to our arrival I sent several messages through Expedia, Facebook and email to let them know we would be checking in late after midnight. When we arrived to the property at 12:30 am by cab The clerk at the front desk said we no longer had a reservation He said since we did not check in during check in hours of 4 pm- 8 pm our reservation was automatically canceled . I showed him the texts and emails I sent during the day to inform of our late arrival He did not care I asked why all 3 days would be canceled He said that is the hotel policy and there is a no refund policy We were stuck with nowhere to go at 1:00 am in Portugal He did not care at all Never apologized or offered any help as we had to carry heavy suitcases back up 20 stairs What a disappointment I would recommend others to book elsewhere

I booked this hotel then read the review and panicked!i dont think they stayed in the same hotel as us!lovely lady on reception greeted us,room spotlessly clean,breakfast was an added bonus! The views must be some of the best in albufeira!lots of lovely areas to sunbathe too and nice pool. We would definitely stay here again!

This so called Hotel is a farce. I only booked it because my favourite Hotels were fully booked. My room, 406, was so small that with 2 single beds in, it was impossible to open the door to get in. I tried pushing the beds closer to the opposite wall, only to be unable to do so, because of a bedside table. I got washed having travelled all day. As per normal I put the used towel in the shower. The maid came in next day, and re-hung the same towel. The highlight is breakfast.. A choice of 2 cereals, followed by bread and jam. Watch out the Savoy.

Terrible experience – AVOID

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Hotel da Galé was so poor that I feel compelled to warn others. The room I was given bore no resemblance to the photos online. The smell was damp, and the bathroom had mould and peeling paint. The beds are old and sagging, which would make sleeping difficult. Service didn’t improve the situation. Staff were dismissive when I raised concerns. I decided to leave the property and stay elsewhere. Avoid this place.

Even though it is advertised with parking included, you are on your own finding a parking spot off street ( that was we were told at night when we came back to this place). At 31 degrees, no fan, no window screen with tons of flys outside the window.

Weekend à Albufeira

Super Réceptionnistes aux petits soins toujours prêt à rendre service, hôtel avec beaucoup trop de marches pour les personnes âgés ou handicapés. Chambre un peu trop chargé, le tableau du bateau aurait suffit, ptt terrasse dommage qu'il y a une odeur d'égout quand on dehors. Manque de variétés au ptt déjeuner : 1 sorte de croissant, 2 sortes de tartines de 🍞, 1 sorte de boule de 🍞, 1 ptt plateau de fromage (gruyère) et 1 ptt plateau de jambon sans oublier le panier de pommes. Côté piscine 3 transat pour tout le monde. Sinon hôtel bien situé près de la plage et de la vieille ville, arrêt de bus pas très loin . Très belles vues sur la ville

Reseña del Hotel Da Gale en Albufeira Basado en mi experiencia personal durante una estancia en agosto (temporada alta estival), y complementado con datos reales sobre distancias y tiempos. El hotel se encuentra en una ubicación céntrica pero elevada, en el Cerro da Piedade, lo que influye en el acceso peatonal. He estructurado la reseña valorando por separado la sensación general, la experiencia de la estancia y el trato del personal. Al final, incluyo los cálculos de tiempos y distancias al centro del pueblo (considerando la Praça da República en el casco antiguo como referencia principal). Sensación General La sensación al entrar en el hotel es de un lugar anticuado y algo descuidado, evocando una atmósfera de los años 70 u 80. Al abrir la puerta de la habitación, lo primero que percibes es un olor extraño y penetrante, similar a humedad o falta de ventilación, que resulta molesto al principio pero al que te acostumbras con el tiempo. La habitación en sí transmite una impresión de dejadez: mobiliario deteriorado por el tiempo, sin mantenimiento evidente, y una ventana que da a un patio interior sin circulación de aire, lo que hace que el ambiente sea caluroso y opresivo, especialmente en verano. Pleasant stay, no problems

I felt I should write a review after reading lots of bad reviews about this hotel, as I had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is very basic and doesn't have air conditioning but I knew this before booking. My room didn't get a lot of sun and the temperature was fine. It is clean and there were cleaners working all the time. There are a lot of steps in it but I didn't have a problem with that, there is an elevator. All the photos the hotel provides are exactly how it is. There is a lovely view from the pool and breakfast area. Breakfast was basic, as expected but enjoyable due to the lovely views. It is in an elevated position above the old town, so I would usually walk to the town, which isn't far and get an uber back, which was €4. The lady at reception was very pleasant. Overall, I knew what I had booked before I arrived and I didn't expect five star facilities at a two star hotel. Also I was travelling on my own and felt safe.

Option balcon choisie et jamais eu ! Le personnel s en fixhe completement. Parking publique sans jamais de place. Piscine non chauffe ok mais mal exposee. Elle est a moins de 25°C. Pas de clim, il faut demander des ventilateur et des lits bb meme s ils savent combien vous etes et quel age vous avez.. a eviter absolument. Aucun manager ne repond aux differents appels (perso ou expedia). La procedure de remboursement est lance. Dans notre chance, la douche avait un tres mauvaise evacuation..

This property was very unsafe with MANY steep steps upon entering and around the property. The moment you walk in STEEP STAIRS down just to get to reception desk. There is a USELESS elevator you need to take steps up to access. It is VERY dangerous with luggage and the male staff will NOT assist you and we were two ladies in our fifties. There was ONE young LADY who offered to help dragging luggage up the many steps! NO air conditioning OR fans! They lied about having fans and getting one to us and it was smoldering hot. The rooms are small and not comfortable! We encountered MANY people with the same complaints and the male staff were RUDE and unaccommodating! Hotel is also on a steep hill not far from old town but at least 15m UP HILL on cobblestone streets. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

Avoid at all costs!! No air conditioning, entire room smells strongly of mold, our room had no power outlets, sketchy neighbourhood, bed sheets had stains.
