The welcome I received changed all of that. They took me straight to my room and gave me tea and treated me like I was part of their family. I had the best meal of my time in Japan at this inn. "The service staff is exceptional. We had dinner at the nearby Mitu restaurant and the restaurant charged us twice which I think was an honest mistake. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for the next two days which meant we couldn't contact the restaurant re the double charge as we were scheduled to move on to the next city on our tour. We approached the hotel staff to see if they could contact the restaurant on our behalf to get them to check the restaurant records. They were very helpful...

"This place is amazing. Large for Japan standards and quirky, with original station features and nice add ons the owner has made. Lovely thoughtful inclusions such as a torch, ear plugs (ee didnt need them, to be honest most places in Japan you can hear a trai !), umbrella, lovely bath products, great coffee, breakfast tickets, microwave. The owner has made the effort. This was a highlight of two weeks around Japan."
