"We had a lovely time here! We were travelling by public transport, and this spot is a little of out of the way, but they sent a shuttle to the train station and it was easy to arrive. It was not clear from their website that the restaurant would not be open for dinner, and the closest restaurant by foot (other than McDonald's) was a 30 minute walk away. That was no problem; we had a nice walk, a great dinner, and really loved the onsen!"

It was a tradition Japanese place, public baths that were spotless and cozy, got kimonos for our stay and inside house slippers, the meals were unique and intricate. "This hotel was easily one of the best hotels we stayed in Japan. The hotel rooms have a proper ryokan feel and the hotel staff are the nicest people I have came across in Japan. We didn’t even ask them for a shuttle pick up from our bus stop but a car with a driver was already there They provide free shuttle to and fro Sukurai station which I wish I knew from before. Oh and the views from the rooms are just exquisite. I would recommend this hotel to anyone in a heartbeat. My only regret is that...

"For most people it’s a once in a lifetime experience as it was for us. Good food, the onsen was not so good, ceremonies, which due to our lacking Japanese we couldn’t understand. But all in all a great experience. It was rather cold in the temple. "
