The apartment is very welcoming and well stocked. It is two blocks from the Eastern Market metro station with great availability to all areas from the airport to Silver Springs including the entire Smithsonian complex with good restaurants. Alex is both flexible and kind. We would like to have met him.
Excellent location. We rode our bikes into DC via the C & O Canal trail and so didnt have to worry about parking. One block away are excellent restaurants. We went to the Ukrainian restaurant. And we visited the Eastern market / Farmer's Market on Saturday. Trader Joe's is two blocks away. So we made use of the kitchen. The capital building is about one mile. So we had easy access to the mall and all it has to offer.Washer and dryer didn't work. We let them know and they were grateful so hopefully it works for the next tenants/guests.The bed is comfortable and it was nice to have shampoo and body wash provided. Neighborhood is clean and well maintained.DC near the mall is pricey. This place tacked on a 100 cleaning fee. Bringing the price up to over 400 for two nights.
The location has to be the main reason to stay here! The neighborhood is unique with architecture, gardens, and lifestyles. There are plenty of food and beverage options all within walking distance. If you plan to bike, this is a perfect spot-bike lanes are in abundance with monuments and such all within a 5-20 minute bike ride depending what part of town you're going to. Parking could be a challenge-I had good luck with a street spot right out front-and no ticket. The communication with Alex was swift and detailed. Ask anything and expect a prompt response.
Good location, apartment was in good working order, would recommend going there!

Eastern Market and Trader Joes were just around the corner, and bus routes were close. The checkin and checkout instructions were clear and the place was clean and matched the pictures.
Nice place with everything you need to be comfortable. The location was perfect. Just steps away from Eastern Market, Metro and plenty of Restaurants, and shops. Great neighborhood with easy access for exploring DC. You can even walk from there to the Capitol and to the National Mall.
Great location. Walking distance to outstanding restaurants and points of interest.
Clean garden apartment with well-equipped kitchen.
Host was very responsive to our inquiries.
This will become our D.C. "home away from home".
My brother and I have always wanted to visit Washington, DC, and this rental was the perfect place to stay! The location is fantastic — just two blocks from the Metro, making it incredibly easy to get anywhere in the city. Trader Joe’s is also very close, which made it convenient to grab groceries for quick meals. Eastern Market is within walking distance as well, and we had the best breakfast of our trip there. The weekend farmers market was in full swing and so enjoyable to walk through. The rental itself was very clean and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable, and my brother said the pull-out couch was quite comfortable too. The shower always had hot water on demand, which we really appreciated after long days of exploring. The only minor issue we encountered was with the washer and dryer. The washer door needed a little maneuvering to close properly, and the dryer unfortunately did not work. We reached out to Alex and John, and they were very responsive and apologetic. Air-drying our clothes worked just fine and didn’t take long. The neighborhood felt very clean and welcoming, and coming from rural Minnesota, we felt very safe the entire time. If we return to DC, we would definitely stay here again. 10/10 recommend!
The unit was in a perfect location for green tourists like us. Subway and public transit less than 2 blocks.
Trader Joe's one block and plenty of food options close by.
Alex the host is hands down the quickest and most responsive host I've ever delt with. We had a small issue and it was tesolved quickly.

Nice location but needs some TLC
We visited two nights in January and liked the location. Pre-check-in comm was great! Street parking was not available to unload our things so we did the musical cars dance while unloading from the alley having had to move for an entering car. I was distracted by a non-functioning lockbox (why would there be two lockboxes?). I reread the instructions and found the correct one which was low to the ground and could be difficult for those with mobility issues to get to. The key was sitting inside in old rainwater and stained my hands with rust. The unit is in the basement, so the entrance is under a staircase. On the stair case above was a large rotting pumpkin which wasn't very welcoming and the area outside our door made me question what I was going to find inside. The entryway had not been swept or kept up, so it was impossible not to track wet leaves into the apartment. The iron security door needs to be replaced. It had a broken screen on it and you had to physically lift the door up to get it to open. I was frustrated and my husband had to come and do it after I cut my hand on the door. Once inside, everything was tidy. The one lamp in the living room had no lightbulb and the shower floor had hair in it. I wiped it out and flipped the shower mat upside down as it looked cleaner. There was a lot of rot around the floor of the bathroom. The bed and linens were comfy and that was the most important thing as we did not spend time inside or use any appliances or TV.
This basement apartment was perfect for our weekend visit to DC. It was clean and had what we needed. It was close to the Market Garden Metro station, making it very convenient to get to the National Mall area. Thanks!
We had a wonderful time in DC during the 250th anniversary of the USA. The basement apartment was very clean except for the countertop ice maker, which was a fantastic not advertised addition. Thank you!! The AC was on when we got there and didn't need to turn the window units except for a couple times during all of our stay even though there was a terrible heat wave that week. The bed is very high and comfy, and sofa bed is also very comfy according to my adult son. The apartment is dated and in need of a major bathroom remodel but, everything was very clean, plenty of nice linens. Quick hot water. We were barely there anyways; we were out and about all day. We did cook breakfast and everything worked as expected. Very basic kitchenware but it did the job. The only disappointing thing was the washer and dryer not working but Alex let us know in advance, so we packed accordingly. It would've been nice though cause the outfits we thought we could repeat, NO WAY in that hot weather. LOL.
The location is amazing, nice quiet neighborhood and still only 2.5 blocks from the metro and plenty of restaurants to pick from. Also, there's a Trader Joe's 1/2 block from there, a CVS, the Eastern Market and more. I am very thankful to have found this place at a price that didn't break the bank. Thank you, Alex!
Everything we needed to have a wonderful stay in DC! We will be back!!!

Location was perfect! Bathroom in serious need of updating, and door locks very tough to turn. Other than that. Great location, and can’t beat the price.
We had an excellent stay. There are a few things that need to be updated and we left a list of what we thought- it seems to have been used often. Great location
Location, good bed and shower made up for being in a basement apartment. Will come again!

The bed was fine. However, multiple dishes that were put away in the cabinet were still stained and dirty. Had to wash my dishes before using them. My biggest issue and what ruined my trip was the dryer. It said in their binder that it worked. I was able to use the washer just fine, but then the dryer was not working. I called the host, messaged the host, and there was no response. I contacted customer support and only after they called the host did he message me back. However he only responded once and wasn’t any help. If the communication was better maybe I wouldn’t be as upset about the dryer and dishes. Walking around with wet clothes in a city you’re unfamiliar with trying to find a laundromat to use that isn’t vacated is irritating.
