"I don’t usually leave reviews, but the accommodations, staff and service were exceptionally excellent. My partner and I were here for a short getaway and I’m so glad we chose El Silencio. The food was top notch and there was a wide variety of activities to choose from. The hiking on the property was quite enjoyable and we loved the on property private waterfalls. "This was a wonderful first stop on our vacation as is it was midway betweeen San Jose and La Fortuna. We stayed in the family villa for 2 nights and found it to be spacious with beautifully landscaped grounds. The local waterfalls were easily accessible and we could walk to local restaurants. "These are pretty rustic cabins, but they are clean and comfortable. Also, the WiFi is fast.
Expedia double booked the family cabin so when we arrived, the only cabin left was a studio with 2 full beds - and we are 5 people. The host called his daughter and she brought over a cot to put in the living area. We were so grateful not to have to find another place!
I can't say enough nice things about this host. He lives next door and is totally willing to help out in any way. He has 3 milk cows and 2 calves and he makes his own cheese - it is SO GOOD. We only stayed 1 night, but in a bigger space we would love to have stayed longer. "
