「Lovely stay here , room was comfortable , warm and clean , very quiet despite being by the road . The only noise was from the bar quiz but that didn’t go on for long . Our meal here was lovely, reasonably priced and well worth the money , when the beer my partner wanted had finished he chose another, only to be brought a free half pint when it was back on again . Wouldn’t hesitate to return 」

「I stayed at the Tavern for one night Monday 6/10/25 prior to attending a funeral. I had read previous reviews criticising road noise. Whilst it was heard,I didn’t find it an issue at all. Had a good nights sleep in a comfy bed. Superb bathroom- i loved the large soaker tub- hard to find a room with bath these days. Staff were very friendly and food was hot and tasty with portions on the large side! Would definitely stay here again.」

「Customer service stood out for me. I booked a certain room and initially didn’t get it. The lady at reception (didn’t get her name but she worked 1st Nov) ran around the hotel to sort out the room for me straight away. Room was super clean, quiet and stylish. 「Delightful managers and staff, ready and eager to help. The room (3) itself was beautiful and cosy. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bedsheets smelled lovely. The shower was amazing, the bathroom gorgeous. The general decor of the room and bathroom were lovely. I would definitely stay here again! Unfortunately I didn’t have time (I was working) to sample the food, but I definitely will next time! If you have accessibility needs, let them know way ahead of time as most of the rooms are...
