Abacus is certainly good for the price point, but I wouldn't recommend staying here for more than a couple of days. The room was OK, small and smelled a little odd (I think because of the fridge) but otherwise mostly clean and comfortable. The owner was friendly. Included breakfast was a bonus. WiFi was patchy, which I would normally overlook, but given the mobile reception in the area is bad, it did create a problem. The biggest problem is the shared bathrooms. They're more like tiny cupboards that you can barely move in, and both somehow have a toilet, shower and sink crammed in. They're kept quite clean but given that you have to do some gymnastics to avoid putting your foot in the toilet when getting out of the shower really isn't great. Could do with a bit of a refresh (and a thorough review of the bathroom situation), but otherwise good.

We always stay here when over from USA as father lives in Farnborough. Love the place as convenient to everything we need. Only issue is the parking can be full up.

Characterful property, though the most interesting downstairs spaces didnt seem to have much function - it felt like they were a corridor to the restaurant. We were in a modern ground floor room - pleasant but some fittings looked a bit tired. There was no aircon. We were charged almost £100 for dinner for 2 (without wine). Food ok but not special - i was not even offered a bread roll with my soup. Most other diners seemed to be families with rather noisy children - overall it felt somewhere between fine dining and a holiday camp. At check in i was pressed to book and pay for breakfast, which i did. Next morning i was told by restaurant staff that they had no record of my booking

We had a good time here with 3 kids in the deluxe family room. Decor and bathroom fittings could be refreshed but the critical things were clean and plenty of space in the rooms and also garden for the kids to chill and play. We thought it was good value for money. Very close to paulton park and also within 30mins drive to most of the walks we wanted to do so all in all a good experience.
