Our space is a self contained studio with far reaching views down the Painswick valley. The light and airy space is perfect for those looking for a base to explore the area or visiting family and friends.
With a bed, sofa, dedicated workspace and air conditioning, its also ideal for those away with work.
If you're here on the weekend, don't forget to head into Stroud and experience it's buzzing farmers market, or the lively food market in the five valleys shopping centre.
The space
It is a studio meaning everything (except the shower room!) is all in one space. The bifold doors provide a great view down the Painswick valley and the triple glazed Velux dormers ensure it feels bright and spacious.
The small kitchenette is equipped for guests to make light lunches or enjoy a takeaway. There is a fridge freezer, microwaves, kettle and basic utensils.
There is a dedicated workspace with a desk and chair and you are free to make use of the monitor and wireless keyboard.
There is high speed Wi-Fi, use of an Alexa and access to Netflix on the TV.
There is lots of space for a travel cot, or blow up bed for a child.
There is ample parking, we can easily accommodate two cars (N.B. the lane to our house is narrow for about 200 metres, if you are not comfortable with the width of your car you may prefer to park on the Main Road and walk down).
Outside you are free to use our garden, but please note this is a shared space so you may bump into us from time to time! There is a patio with outside furniture and views down the valley and various children's play equipment.
Central to the village of Whiteshill, our annex is on the main bus route to Stroud and Gloucester. Stroud train station with connections to London and Cheltenham a 5 minute drive away.
There are numerous walks from the doorstep, and Stroud is popular for its Farmers Market on a Saturday morning.
Guest access
You will have exclusive use of our annexe but the access to the annexe is a shared path to our house. The outside space is shared, but we tend to be busy at weekends with kids clubs so we aren't usually around too much.
Please note the annexe is close to our house and at present we don't have any screening to separate the two.
The driveway is shared by us, but there is plenty of space for up to 5 cars and we only have one.
Other things to note
The annexe is in the garden of our property and does not have any screening to make the outside space feel separate. To access the annexe you will feel like you are walking into our garden, so please ensure you are comfortable with this arrangement.
The annexe has a basic kitchenette, designed to allow guests to enjoy a takeaway, prepare breakfast and light lunches. There is a microwave if you need it. You will find plates, utensils, various glasses and a chopping board.
There is a small fridge freezer and plenty of space to store food.
A short walk away you will find Whiteshill Community Shop which sells local produce at reasonable prices and also has a cafe serving very reasonably priced breakfast and lunch (bacon sandwiches for less than £3!)
There is no wardrobe, however we have provided hooks on the walls and hangers should you need to hang anything up. There are also two cupboards which can be used for clothes storage/suitcases and holdalls.
