This 1880 historic coastal home (with ICE COLD AIR!!) is located just a half mile from Downtown Wakefield Village in South Kingstown, RI and just a few miles from RI's sandy, sought-after beaches. It boasts the historic charm of a New England coastal cottage with the updates that you look for in a vacation home-away-from-home. There are four spacious bedrooms, two full baths, one half bath and comfy outdoor living space with outdoor shower that offers a hot or cold rain head experience! Tastefully decorated in 'Boho Beach Charm' that you will love the moment you arrive! The town of Narragansett is just about four miles from the property where you can choose from several state beaches that are beautiful, clean, and family friendly. Take the Block Island Ferry from Pt. Judith, just six miles from the house and enjoy Block Island for a day of shopping, restaurants, boating, sunbathing. Newport is a 25 minute drive, Mystic Aquarium, Seaport and Village just 45 minutes away. If you love casinos and shows, Connecticut's Foxwoods Resort/Casino, Mohegan Sun Casino, and RI's Bally's Casino is a 45 minute drive from this lovely home-away-from-home.

The Allen house was the perfect home base for my families visit to Rhode Island! The home was so cute, cozy, clean, and stocked with everything you could need. Perfect quiet location away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to everything we wanted to see and do. Check in and check out were easy and seamless. The hosts were very friendly and great with communication! Highly recommend

We Can’t Wait to Return!

This is our third year staying here and this house is beautiful, truly one of a kind. The location is ideal for us, being away from crowds but in close proximity to plenty of amenities and only a short drive to the beach. The owners are amazing, very responsive and they go above and beyond to make sure you’re enjoying your stay and have everything you need. My girls love having the upstairs level to themselves and the yard is perfectly sized for them to play. It’s such a great rental!

First time staying here. Our graduation celebration week was made very comfortable at this house. Will definitely try to stay here again! We were all very happy with the spacious, well-lit and thoroughly stocked house. Plenty of parking too. We were treated to a large welcome basket of snacks and wine. Thank you!This was a no-contact check-in went smoothly. Never saw host, but our texts were responded to fairly quickly for questions. Spotlessly clean rooms and comfy beds made it great to sleep. Quiet neighborhood with nice yard and deck to relax. Very close to south beaches. We did not use any of their beach gear except some chairs for a track meet. They could use a bit of WD40. The AC was very efficient when needed. Everyone complimented me on choosing such a nice place. Glad I chose it too! Thank you for your lovely house and hospitality. Marianne

Fun long weekend

The property was very cozy. We were traveling around surrounding states and the location was convenient no matter where we went. After long days of traveling it was nice to come home to this property for some rest and family time playing games and watching movies.

Home Base

A good home base for travels in the Newport/Wakefield/Narragansett RI area. Near historic town, with good food and ice cream. Well equipped home, including stand mixer, herbs, pots and pans supply, utensils, paper products and more. Decorating makes it feel uber cozy.We were there for a Boomer generation reunion of 7 of us. It was a little tricky getting in (some stairs and narrowish doorway), but I addressed this with the owners. They are really easy to contact and work with.We spent large portions if time gathered in the living room watching old family movies and having spirited discussions. I recommend this property for a family gathering or as a home base for local exploration and discoveries.

Wonderful Month-long Stay

Lisa's home was perfect for our two young kids over the course of a month. It truly felt like a home away from home. Clear throughout, with fully stocked kitchen. We never felt like we needed anything for the entire stay. If we needed anything, Lisa was super responsive by text and communicated throughout. We would stay again!

A wonderful stay

We appreciated the quality, cleanliness, and comfort of this beautiful south county home. Lots of thoughtful little extras that were a treat for these tired parents vacationing with three kids under 12. From welcome snacks to bubbles to bug spray, we had everything we needed. AC is actually ductless, not central, but it kept us nice and cool all the same. The beach supplies were wonderful. Thank you and we hope to return in the future!

Great Stay

Perfect family gathering

Absolutely perfect!

Our family considers this spot in Wakefield Rhode Island our summer home! It is 10 minutes to Scarborough or Narragansett Beach and it is five minutes from downtown Wakefield. Both of which my family of all ages enjoy tremendously. The house is absolutely adorable and very well maintained. it is spotless when we arrive and has everything we need. Honestly, I just can’t imagine a summer without a stay on Allen Street.

A wonderful return to the Allen House

This is our second year staying at the Allen House and it was just as good, if not better, than the first! Lisa and Steve go out of their way to make you feel like their personal guests. The house is also incredibly comfortable and has anything you might possibly need for a great vacation. We especially love all of the beach items-- boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, etc. We cannot wait to come back again next summer!

Great rental!!

We had an awesome time at this beautiful home. We have been renting in South County for 13 years and this house was definitely top notch. The owners were very friendly and responsive and went above and beyond to provide everything we could possibly need. The house was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The deck/yard was perfect for my girls to play and for us to relax. I would definitely recommend!!

Charming and Welcoming

Beautiful House - Close to Everything!

Our family stayed at the Allen House for two weeks this summer and had an amazing stay. When it comes to this vacation rental, the owners have truly thought of everything! We were greeted with two bountiful gift baskets-- the perfect surprise after a long day of traveling. The home was clean and beautifully decorated and included everything we needed for a fun beach vacation. The drive to the beach is quick and easy, and we loved being able to escape the crowds and come back to our little relaxing haven each day. Wakefield is also super cute and has lots of little stores and restaurants to check out. I would highly recommend this home to anyone vacationing in RI and hope to stay here again in the future!

The beat vacation rentals ever!

Delightful Week

Our stay at the Allen House was perfect. Steve and Lisa went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed, and the house was clean, roomy, and so relaxing. The house is a short and easy 7-8 minute drive to the beaches in Narragansett and a very leisurely, short, and beautiful walk to downtown Wakefield. We especially loved being able to walk downtown to the ice cream shop and apothecary/soda fountain each day and sitting outside in the picturesque backyard each morning and evening. This house is an absolutely wonderful place to stay! Thank you, Steve and Lisa!
