"This property feels more like a wedding and event venue than a motel or a place to spend a relaxing day. The view is absolutely stunning, and the owner (or staff member who assisted us) was very kind and welcoming. The location is also excellent, as it is close to Champlain Centre and only about 8 minutes from the falls, making it very convenient for visitors. The place is quite old, including the furniture, but it is also very clean and well maintained. Because the building is old, there are a few drawbacks. We noticed some ants in the bathroom, and the smell of aged wood is quite strong throughout the property. If you are sensitive to odors or have allergies, this may be uncomfortable for you. I booked a one-night stay with breakfast included through Expedia. Coming from Montreal, I paid CAD $357 for a lake-view room with two beds.I found the breakfast unexpected. It consisted of cake, yogurt, and a croissant, which felt more like a snack than a proper breakfast. There were no eggs, cheese, bread, or other substantial options. Considering the price I paid, I felt that the overall value did not match my expectations. Overall, the beautiful location, amazing view, convenient access to local attractions, and friendly service were definite highlights, but the breakfast offering and the property's age related characteristics made the experience feel overpriced for what was provided."

"We stayed at this lovely property on South Hero Island for the long weekend—it was a beautiful property with the perfect sunset view! Amazing wall to wall glass doors looking out onto the lake, quiet, private spot. The space was perfect for 2 couples looking to explore the area. Owner had great communication and shared so many tips of exploring the area like a local. We will definitely add this to our select list of repeat rentals!"

"If you are looking for a great family getaway you NEED to book this place. We came up for UVM Commencement and we absolutely loved this home. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need and more to cook in and feed the family. There is a whole bookshelf full of games and puzzles; 5 bedrooms with room for privacy and the house is so spacious you don’t feel like you are bumping into each other. The view is AMAZING snd we couldn’t stop saying ‘wow! Look at this place!’ Susan the host was easily reachable and communicative. Don’t let this one slip by! We hope to come back again for sure!"

"My husband and I stayed to celebrate our anniversary. The location was perfect for access to Burlington and Montreal and everything in between. The airport is a very convenient drive. We got to see snow which we don't get to do very often, and the guest house was a warm, welcome place to return to at the end of the day. It's a perfect, pretty, cozy place. "

Luxury Lakefront Getaway

"The Jewel of the Isle now has the most special place in my heart. We rented this house to host family and friends for my Dad, Mom and Uncles Celebration of Life. This home provided so many things to my family and friends. We sat outside most of our days at the fire pit. Took walks down on the beach. Had snacks and drinks on the wooden patio they have set up next to the fire pit. We sat in the living room one night all 9 of us and just visited. The dining room provided plenty of seats for meals and games. Every thing we needed was at our finger tips from kitchen items down to a spare tooth brush. Nothing was forgotten for their guests. We needed nothing. Thank you to our hosts Mitch and Kristina!!! Your home was more than we could have hoped for. We truly felt like we were at home and very much welcomed. A must stay for any family or groups of people!! We hope to visit again one day. "
