"Pension Barbara is a very cosy and clean pension right next to the paths leading up to The Brocken. The hostess was very sweet and attentive, and we had a good stay. Schierke as a town is a bit dated and quiet in the autumn, when we visited. Is was difficulty to find a place to just have a couple of drinks etc. The national park, Brocken and paths are all excellent for a short hiking-holiday. Great nature, chalenging paths (if you want it), nice restaurant on the summit."

"Ein sehr schönes Erlebnis. Riesige Zimmer mit sehr viel Platz und allem was man braucht. Sehr bequeme Betten sowie saubere Zimmer und einem neuen Bad. Man hat den Charm des alten Hauses gut wieder gegeben mit dem Touch von neuem. Für Hundebesitzer sehr zu empfehlen. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr höflich und hilfsbereit.
