Kim and her staff were super inviting and friendly, from the time we arrived, until we left. The room was very clean and well appointed, and the brunch and coffee shop were great. They were transitioning to a restaurant the week were there, and it went rather smooth.
There are two things that could be made more readily apparent.
1- The Otto Ringling room we stayed in faces the main road running through Sarasota, to the beaches and downtown. Lots of road noise, and on top of the construction that is going on, it is extra congested.
2- They have an open mic night, and an occasional concert outside the courtyard, which is also right up against the Otto room. Very noisy, on the outside, and if there is inclement weather, they bring it inside, which makes it louder. That being said, they do a good job of clearing everybody out around 10, with the kitchen staff and stragglers making noise until around 11 pm. It’s not a very big issue since it’s not an every week thing, but they could put it on the website and give people a heads up.
3- The location is great. Minutes from downtown, and 15 minutes to St. Armands.
4- As guests, there could be a discount on brunch, or at the coffee shop, and reserved parking in the little lot, but not a big issue.
Overall, a great visit, and a great place to stay, as long as you expect to not go to bed before 10pm from the restaurant, and 730 with morning traffic.
