The space includes air conditioning, a full kitchen, living space with TV, a queen-sized bed and a full bathroom with stand-up shower. A reserved parking spot is available in the back, and the shared outdoor patio with BBQ grill is a gem! This is the perfect little spot for a San Diego getaway.

Stylish?

Not sure what was stylish about it. The painted concrete floor maybe? Not HC assessable. Nicest part was the patio but being in line with the airport runway made it tough having a conversation with jets flying low every 3 minutes. The shower would be nice if you are 4’ tall. Don’t plan on cooking much with about 12” of countertop. To walk anywhere you had to walk down an alley which was a little creepy at night. Other than that it was ok.

Possible Black Mold in the Unit

Location is the best part of the unit, but not enough of a reason to book it. We arrived late on a Friday night and entered the unit (codes worked as expected) tired and ready to sleep. Only to find the unit was not clean. My daughter immediately suggested we sleep in the car. My wife questioned if the sheets were clean or not. Even if they were clean, it should NOT be in question. Luck for us we brought blankets that we could use to cover the pillows and the rest of the bed. The place was so dirty we did not want to take our shoes off. If we where staying more than two nights we would have left that morning, which we should have. Prior to leaving we took pictures to show we cleaned up and we noticed what appeared to be black mold. Mold that they seemed to have painted over to cover it up. Mold would explain why my wife was so sick during the stay. I would avoid it until it is clear they have no mold.

Worked for us

My daughter and I stayed here so we could visit SDSU during "Admitted Student Day". This place is very near the beach and ALSO very convenient to the Interstate 8 freeway which took us right to the SDSU campus. Regular hotel rooms are about the same price in the San Diego area but this place supposedly had two bedrooms. The description is a bit scrambled on the VRBO site because the top heading lists two bedrooms each with a queen bed. What we found was one bedroom with a queen bed and a common area with a foldout couch (about the size of a queen bed). We were promptly given a sheet set for the couch after communicating with the host. It all worked out fine for our two night stay.

Great little gem!

Loved this place. The area was clean. The VRBO was a little difficult to find at first since it’s located in the ally and behind a real estate building. The parking was great. The internet and TV would freeze and stop while we were trying to watch a show at night. Anytime I had to message the owner he replied quickly. Overall I would stay there again.
