Of course there are newer and plusher hotels but this place takes some beating for its idyllic location, courteous and professional service, cleanliness, comfort and good value restaurant. 「Had a great stay. Alison was a gracious host. She made reservations for us to eat dinner at a tasty restaurant nearby after we arrived late in the evening for our check in. And she even woke up early to have breakfast ready for us as we needed to head out early for the next part of our trip, even though we assured her we could just go without. Our room was clean and comfortable for our family of four. Definitely recommend. 」

「Arrived at the hotel, which to their credit allowed us to check in early as we had to get to a wedding before their usual check-in time. Unfortunately the room was absolutely freezing - we thought the heating might be off, but it was actually on. As we were in a rush we turned the heater up and left for the day. We got back late at night to find the room still extremely cold. As the reception building was closed, and we’d previously been told that the hotel was fully booked, we handed the key in...
