"Hotel has great potential, but is very poorly managed. This is a very expensive hotel and does not provide a service in line with what is charged.
The beach is gourgeous, but full with plastic waste that comes from the sea. All neighboring hotels and restaurants clean their beaches, this one does not.
Additionally, the hotel charges disproportionate prices on everything: transfer from Cancun airport is 3x more than what we paid, a meal is 2x more than any restaurant in the village, a tour to...

"The hotel is really cute and clean and the staff are super friendly and helpful! Had to book last minute because the hotel I originally booked was terrible they were there to check me in at 8pm less than an hour after I booked and it was an incredibly easy check in. They have a hotel dog that is incredibly sweet and loves attention but will leave you alone if you don’t. "

"Fantastic location, we loved little paths in the jungle, clean pool and convenient beds on the beach. Staff was very attentive but giving us a space. "

"The staff was excellent. Won’t find a better deal in zone hotelera as far as food and beach club/beach bed access for hotel guests. Already planning our next visit! "

"Casa Ambar was a really great hotel. The hotel is centrally located for the restaurants and clubs near the beach. The staff were very nice, breakfast delicious, and my room was large. The only down side is that this hotel is on the jungle side rather than beach side of the road. I would happily stay here again."

"The location on the map isn’t where the property is. It’s 3.5km a 40 minute walk. The host asked for information about my stay before accepting my request. I let the host know I was booking for a family member to stay across from La Zebra where we were staying. When we arrived in Tulum and saw the property was so far away the host said to request a refund. The host denied the refund afterwards. We didn’t use the property and had to pay for other accommodations. "

"Front desk are very goodi I love my housekeeper Christina, Emeldo from engineering is very good and funny, The girls who mainly work breakfast are very kind, they could use some help with getting the food to tables before it gets cold…the changes happening while i was there are perfect , wish they would have happened sooner. I love how quiet it is there and the suites . "
"The service was impeccable, not a beat missed! The resort was stunning, well cared for, quiet, zen, and so beautiful. The rooms were well appointed, very private, and clean. It was an incredible stay :) "
"Alaya Hotel was a lovely stay. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and made us feel comfortable. Daniel helped us check in after a long travel day, and was super informative and welcoming! He made our check in quick and easy so we could immediately relax (Thanks Daniel!)
The room was lovely and tropical, room service was great, waitstaff were smiley, and the food was awesome!"
"It was a great stay with 2 kids, very kid friendly and amazing staff and service. That said, a few things could improve -
1) The restaurant is a little overpriced for the quality of the food but then again it’s Tulum so everything is overpriced
2) When booking, nothing was mentioned about the room being part of Luna (Sister property). Would have been nice to know that it was not near the beach.
3) There was a consistent sewage smell near the room which might have been sometime to do with the manual drainage but was a little annoying.
Would recommend it to anyone travelling to Tulum with kids. "
