Never got access to the apartment
We were unable to access the apartment! When we arrived in Playa del Carmen, we sent a message to the owner asking how to meet, and where to meet. We received a message saying 'would it be ok 02? Which we took to mean 2 p.m. - ok. what is the exact address, and where shall we meet? A fewhours went by, and then we got a message saying that the apartment was not available until Jan. 2 - is that ok? Hell no, that is not ok - we reseved from 1-8 January, and here we are at 4 p.m. on Jan. 1 with no place to stay! Completely unacceptable. I do not understand why VRBO continues to send me emails asking me to rate our stay! We never stayed there; it was not available. Very poor. VRBO needs to take some responsibility for this kind of behaviour if they want to retain customers - and I have rented several times through VRBO.
