"This is an older hotel. The lobby’s a/c wasn’t working well and it was warm. My room was clean but had a damp smell."

"We so enjoyed our weekend stay at this Hampton. The staff was absolutely amazing - friendly and always helpful. The room and all the facility was very clean. Our room window faced the river - pretty view and watching the barges and tug boats was entertaining! The parking garage was across the street and convenient, but we never took the car out - walked everywhere. Had a function at the River City theatre and then toured the Old State Capital on the walk back to the hotel (well worth the time). Walked to restaurants (The Little Village was amazing, make sure to get the loaf of bread, actually half loaf is plenty) and in the evening enjoyed strolling along the river walk. I highly recommend this hotel."

"I stayed here in the past and had a great experience. My experience last night was poor. The room I reserved over a month ago was given to someone else. My husband and I had to sleep in a double. Beds were too small so we had to sleep separately. The bathroom was too small for two people. Hopefully next time the experience will be better."

"While the hotel itself met basic needs, there were several aspects of the experience that fell short. The lobby felt dated and in need of refreshing. On one evening, a homeless individual was in the lobby handling and playing with the sugar packets in the guest beverage area. The front desk attendant appeared aware of the situation but did not intervene, which raised concerns about cleanliness, guest comfort, and overall attentiveness to the common areas. Additionally, I was disappointed that a complimentary transfer to another nearby hotel within the same brand family was not available. My business was in South Baton Rouge, while this property was located in North Baton Rouge, making it less convenient for my stay. The surrounding area also felt somewhat isolated and appeared more rundown than expected, which detracted from the overall experience. I will be more cautious when choosing and not make this mistake again. Not recommended."
