"Beach could be cleaner .. more activities "

"Absolutely worst resort we have stayed at...my husband and I stayed at a Riu in cancun and loved it so when picking our vacation destination we made sure it had a Riu BIG MISTAKE..1st off when we checked in we were told restaurants we 1st come 1st serve you can not make a reservation...ok not a problem unless you dont stand in line for an hour before they open because they only serve food from 6pm-730pm or you can eat at the disgusting buffet which had the food backwards food that should have been hot was cold and food like fruit and salad was warm..once we head to our room bell hop tells us beach and pools and beach close at 7pm no where on their booking site is this stated who closes a vacation destination pool at 7pm? Then we paid extra to have a full ocean view we got a view of the roof,once inside we realized the AC was locked at 68 it is hot in Aruba i am a heavy girl and want to cool down after being at the beach or pool.Food was absolutely terrible the steak house was good but that's it ...very limited on restaurant the female staff was enjoyable especially Maria she was our server at the steak house but most of the males were rude my husband asked one of the bartenders to stir his drink he handed him a SMALL wooden stick when my husband replied what am i gonna do with that he very irritability took his drink and half ass stired it all liqueur sat on the bottom..I asked for an extra towel for I have a lot of hair never got it even after manager called my room twice"

"Despite wanting to have turn down services, they never did it. We asked numerous times and never received it. They left us the same towels and sheets for 6 days. We also paid for “all inclusive”, but there are caveats. Room service is extra. At the restaurants, they do not allow you to take your leftovers or dessert back with you. My room key didn’t work once to get into the gym. I even had them remake keys. After the 1st day, they just told me to ask someone that was already in there to open the door for me. When I was checking out and was expressing my displeasure and the woman at checkout didn’t seem to care. Mind you, I’m apart of a 17 person group that takes yearly vacations. I would not recommend this property."

"Pool was great, only down fall is that security didn't allow the kids to have floats that we brought. I didn't think the staff was overly friendly and for the price paid i feel like there should have been more complimentary activities for the kids. Other resorts offer much more for kids."

"I cannot rave enough about the Westerly. The staff went above and beyond for every ask. On our last day I wanted to take unobstructed panoramic pictures of the ocean and the staff took me up to the Palm Beach Club which we didn’t have access to just to take the pictures. They had amazing kids’ activities…I just wish we were told about it sooner…we found out about them on our 2nd to last day. The guy at the car rental lacked personality and was argumentative when we returned the car late because HE was late reporting to his JOB. We had a tour to get to by 9am, we were told the rental desk opens at 8:30, we waited till 8:45 and he still was not there. We had to take a taxi to our tour because he wasn’t there to renew our rental and we had a half hour drive ahead of us. He got irritated with us and insisted he was going to charge us for an extra day because we returned the car 3 hours late. Um hello, sir…you were late to work! We were unable to return the car earlier than on time to you. But anyways, that was the only negative experience. Everything else was amazing. I’m already looking at dates and prices to book our next trip here!"
