「Very clean, calm room. Perfect for our overnight stay.」

「The food was nice, the staff were friendly however the hotel itself is on the main Hereford road and the noise all night was really loud and therefore we had 2 nights of unrest and no sleep. Unfortunately this would stop us going again」

「The checkin was well communicated via email and totally virtual. We had no interaction with any staff. The room was nice but, despite a sign on the bathroom door, a very small step from the bedroom to the bathroom resulted in painful toes as both my wife and I stubbed them on the step. We were in the ‘Deer’ room which is on the third floor. Carrying our luggage up three staircases and narrow corridors was very difficult - there is no lift! 「Lovely old building. Staff were excellent, helpful and cheerful. Very nice breakfasts, didn't dine there in the evening, so can't comment on the evening meals. Having parking to the rear was most useful, but has limited number of spaces. Only "negative" was being a very old property the stairs were a bit of a challenge if you are on the top floor.」

「Highly recommended. Faultless. The staff deserve a special mention as they are excellent in all respects. An example is Carol who warmly greets you at breakfast and is a joy. Both breakfast and dinner were very good and the bar and terrace area is spacious with fantastic west facing views. The hotel is spectacularly located high up above the Wye Valley with a wide panorama. Many of the bedrooms benefit from these wonderful views. A great place to stay for exploring this beautiful area.」

「A nice big room with ample parking. In a quiet location just outside the town. No staff on site but a key lock to each room. Spoke to staff on the phone who were very helpful to check everything was ok. 」

「The best thing about this hotel is the location which is fantastic, and the staff were very nice. We stayed in the Oak Suite which is apparently the best room; it benefits from a private terrace with a pair of easy chairs to watch the river and it's occupancy go by, which is lovely. For me it definitely wasn't a four star, but a fair three star hotel. There was a temporary kitchen which also hampered them as well as the view. The room was clean and airy with a (strangely grubby!)Juliet balcony...

「Hidden gem. Excellent value accommodation with large bedroom and bathroom featuring quality fittings aligning with the period house. We had a delightful hot breakfast with a great selection of freshly prepared ingredients. Pleasant garden surroundings great to walk around and explore. Ample on-site parking too.
