Takapuna Motor Lodge

10/10 Excellent

"Overall, I had a pleasant stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit. One thing that was a little confusing was the note on the reception door after hours. I spent about 10 minutes reading it before deciding to ring the bell because I wasn't sure if I should disturb the staff late at night. In the end, the staff greeted me warmly and simply explained that they needed my ID and a photo of the payment card. I was also a little surprised by the bond fee, as I don't recall being informed about it beforehand. That said, I understand why it is required. There were a few minor issues with the room. Some of the information in the room handbook didn't quite match what was available, although it wasn't a major problem. The power outlet in the bathroom also wasn't working, but fortunately the hairdryer could still reach the nearest working outlet, and there was a mirror nearby. A nice surprise was that housekeeping serviced the room every day by replacing the towels and emptying the rubbish bin, even though I hadn't specifically requested it. Finally, the staff were once again very helpful when I rang the bell late at night before checking out. They clearly explained the checkout process and how the bond refund would be handled. Overall, despite a few minor inconveniences, I had a comfortable stay and appreciated the excellent customer service."
