The staff was amazing and the check in was easy. I loved having the tiny kitchen with full refrigerator and stove. Made for spending money out in meals non existent. The view was incredible and pools were awesome as well. We had to slam our door really hard to get it to shut completely but once it was shut we could lock it just fine. Just had to double check every time we left. I will for sure be staying here again.

Liked: Location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in
Rude staff
Rude checkin staff. Door lock was missing a screw and was very difficult to shut the door and might not be possible to lock for some visitors. Many repairs needed. Great location though.
Good Location, Older & a bit dated, but decent for the $.
Listing did NOT mention that it was 2nd floor
or that the room had a completey Obstructed View. The Palmetto trees blocked ALL of the view of the beach & ocean.
Or that the room was directly across the hall from the public bathroom & with a loud outside bar directly below the balcony.
Several restaurants & stores very close by.
Perfect location, friendly staff, good security, personable lifeguard. A little dated, BUT, CLEAN AND WELL MANAGED! We parked at check-in and walked to the various restaurants offering food as well as entertainment; didn’t have to drive or move until checkout!! Definitely a return trip
We visited here in Dec, there was Xmas light show near the boardwalk. The room was clean but small, the beds were comfortable, I enjoyed the ocean view the most. The checkin process was a setback, the room key didn't work at the 1st time, the front desk remade them, we tried them again, which still didn't work. The front desk called the maintenance, we had to wait, so we asked if we could get a different room, she moved us to the 9th floor, which was nicer, the original room was next to the elevator. Overall, I would recommend this property.
Pros: Property was as described with awesome view to the ocean. Place is a bit older but functional and clean. Location was great - right next to Ferris wheel, restaurant/bars, shops, etc.
Cons: All functioned as intended so these aren’t complaints but simply cons for our party. 1- Parking isn’t the greatest. Very few parking spaces at hotel itself and have to park in a lot across the street which was no big deal, or in a parking deck a block away, or in another parking lot a couple blocks away. One night had to park in furthest lot (weekend night) due to no spaces closer and at night was a little scary for two womens to walk back to hotel. 2- Towels were very small and scratchy but function as intended (can’t wrap around you unless super skinny). 3-Coffee pot provided but no paper cups provided - only glass which my friend didn’t want to use (never know how clean they are). 4- Room had a stale/old smell (hotel is older Holiday Inn).
Still gave 5 stars cause didn’t expect it to be super fancy but wanted the location and ocean view and expected it to be sufficient for a 3 star hotel’s amenities which it was.
Red flag started within thirty seconds of check in. The front desk could not find my reservation, that was a 15 minute process. I was then asked to provide IDs of myself and my sister. Well she is 20 and this is not allowed. Anyone under 21 needs to have a parent present. Mind you, it certainly does NOT state this anywhere in this property listing. It was just my sister and I who drove 13 hours from Michigan. I attempted to contact the VRBO property manager whom I made my reservation with. Absolutely could not get in contact with him. Within 45 minutes we were able to settle that we could stay, but for one night only (again, no assistance from the VRBO property holder). So it was an hour to check in, after we drove the 13 hours, the front desk was RUDE. The room itself was fine, musty smelling. EXCEPT there was NO hot water, luke warm at best. Time to go explore the grounds: the lazy river, pool, and hot tub were all out of commission. I booked this property specifically for their amenities. Great, more wasted more. Access to the beach was not existent, the gates were locked so we had to go back around the building to access. Oh, and the surrounding area is sketchy in off-season. Homeless people all over who literally yell at you and walk towards you.
The property was clean well maintenance and attended the entire time we stayed. Even though it was the offseason they still had a bartender outside in the evenings and the view from the balcony was amazing. The boardwalk is a step away to easy entertainment and food choices. Free parking, the amazing hot tub, pools and lazy river made our trip.
There were some downsides though I'm not sure the property can be blamed for them. The room was a bit musty, I'm sure due to the hurricane the month before. One of the elevators did not want to open on level 5 , and maintenance got on that right away didn't have much of a problem after that. Lastly, this beach allows horses to walk. Which is a beautiful majestic display from afar, but if you like walking the beach you will have to watch for manure.
My wife and I overall found this property to be very good. Our only negative is that we were there 4th of July weekend and it was LOUD. The week after the 4th was so different. The view was awesome. I would recommend but just know it can be loud.
Originally the front desk did not have our reservation so it took them an extra 15-20 minutes to find us, but once they did we even got early check in! They also held our bags for us while we went out to eat.
The room is as pictured and clean. We had an ocean view and it was beautiful. The carpet did feel wet but after calling maintence we believe it’s the chemical they clean it with.
The location is AMAZING!!! You are right in the middle of everything so it’s easy to go back to your room and change. The hotel has a tiki bar in the back which serves reasonably priced fruity drinks, there is a lazy River, hot tub and pool.
Overall, I would for sure stay here again!!!
My husband and I enjoyed our stay in Myrtle Beach. We go on vacation twice a year and this year we got away and decided to stay in Myrtle Beach. We really enjoyed our mini vacation!
