"Basic but nice. Friendly, helpful check in, showing us where all the amenities were on our way to our room. Everything was reasonably clean and tidy. We enjoyed the free access to the dining area to make a coffee and we enjoyed the continental breakfast. The chiller in the hotel was a bit noisy during the night turning on and off."

"The hotel location is fine, but anywhere in Christchurch city will be close to everything there. I stayed in a 'club room' which was very ordinary and in need of some improvement. Worst of all was the club lounge - terrible location and atmosphere, and a complete waste of money unless you're there only for the free evening drinks. "This was a great location and fairly priced. The hosts go out of their way to provide extras like each towels. Public transportation to downtown Christchurch and airport is about 1 block away and runs every 15 minutes until late. There are lots of restaurants nearby along with grocery, pharmacy, and coffee shops. "

"Located at the former University of Canterbury, the refurbished rooms are in an old gray brick building. Located in east walking distance to downtown and across the street from the Botanical Garden, it was ideal for our brief stay in Christchurch. Staff was helpful. No breakfast but there are places close by. May be challenging for people with special needs (walking issues) as there are stairs throughout. That said, they may have accommodation available."

"After staying in downtown Christchurch for three nights it was really nice to spend a night in Sumner by the sea. We loved being there in the off-season. No crowds. Beautiful scenery. Great Indian Restaurant. Would definitely do it again."
