This is a modern hotel in a great location, located on top of a subway station only 4 stops without transfer from Kyoto Station. The subway and bus options are very convenient. There are many restaurants and cafes within walking distance and of course several Seven's and a nice grocery store nearby. The beds are comfortably and the Nespresso machines were great.
Check-in was easy and the staff is extremely helpful and courteous.

This hotel was the best out of the hotels we stayed at on our two week trip (3 hotels total). If you’re looking for a great hotel in Kyoto it’s this hotel. Room was clean and beautiful. Bed was excellent (all other beds we slept on were hard and bad). Bathroom was great! Close to the subway and bus stop (use the bus - super easy, fast and clean). I had a great stay at THE GATE Hotel in Kyoto! The property is modern, clean, and well-maintained. One of the highlights is definitely the top floor, where the reception and bar are located—it offers a stunning panoramic view of the city, especially at sunset. The location is super convenient, just a short walk from the train station and close to several local attractions, which made it easy to explore Kyoto. Overall, a comfortable and stylish place to stay. I’d definitely come back!
