Stone House is a simple, ranch-style home in McMillan, Michigan, just off MI-28. With convenient day trips to the Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore (West) and Tahquamenon Falls (NE), this four (4) bedrooms and 2 bathrooms is a great place to return to at night.

Note: There are 2 steps to enter the Master Bedroom.

Stone House has ample back yard space overlooking East Lake, with eight (8) Adirondack chairs circling the fire pit, and an adult swing to watch the sunsets. Keep in mind that during the winter the fire pit might become covered in snow.

The fully-equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher and a master bedroom with a California King bed with a wide view of the water provide conveniences which add to the ease of a vacation. The dining room area seats 8 people around the table.

NOTE: There is a step between the living room and dining area.

Not only is the outside privacy ideal, yet Stone House has four (4) bedrooms on either side of the kitchen. Sharing with another family of 4 is an option. Both bedrooms with twin beds can be converted to kings for your convenience. Just let the office know when you book, so we can have the beds converted upon your arrival.

For the winter warriors, the 2 car garage guests may use one garage bay. (The garage is NOT heated).

So, grab the dog, and come and enjoy East Lake! With gorgeous sunsets resting on the pleasant all-sports lake, you will create memories to cherish. There is a simple (lawn chairs on deck) pontoon boat with an electric motor for your sole use too. A slow stroll around East Lake with the electric motor is a great way to watch the sunset descend.

Great property! House has everything you might need. Porch in the process of repairs and shower curtain could use replacement with more than just a fabric curtain. But plenty of room for our group of 8 adults. Spacious kitchen. Centrally located for trips to Munising/Pictures Rocks and Tahquamenon Falls. Easy checkin and checkout.

Nice spot

Nice quiet spot on a quiet lake. Not much for swimming but nice swimming at Luce township campground about 10 min away. Lots of rooms and beds. King bed was very comfy! Good size kitchen for cooking. Would recommend!

Two Paws Up!

My wife, two Labradors and I had a wonderful stay at the Stone House. The location was convenient to many local attractions. The house exceeded our expectations! Plenty of room, decent WIFI, AC for the hot days. There were water toys for the lake. Our dogs loved swimming in the lake each day and taking walks. It's difficult to find a rental that will allow two larger dogs and we are grateful to have found this place. We will happily return to Stone House for another visit.

Great UP Lake House

This house is comfortable and stocked with everything you might need for a getaway. It worked well to have 2 rooms on each side of the house. With the kitchen and living space between. The outdoor space was wonderful for the dogs. And the Lake is just the cherry on top. We loved our stay and would happily visit again.

Pleasant stay

We were basically happy with the Stone Cottage. There were 4 adults in our group so we had plenty of room, most of the beds were comfortable as were the pillows on the king bed. A comfortable bed and pillows is very important to me. We had all we needed for our stay in terms of the supplies and space. The house was clean, the location great for us and easy to find. I did want to take a pontoon boat ride but the weather did not cooperate. They have made some updates and improvements especially in the main bathroom which was huge! The only negatives, if you will, is that the heat was uneven throughout the house, and we couldn't get the gas fireplace in the dining room to work. They did supply a working space heater which we used and appreciated. Although the house has had improvements it is in need of some cosmetic repairs in terms of the ceilings, some paint touch ups and other minor things. WE had a minor issue with the tv controls but they quickly sent someone to fix that. All in all in was a cozy place to stay this time of year. WE would not hesitate to stay there again. FVR Response: Thank you for your honest, thoughtful review. I'm glad we were able to send someone out to help with the remotes. Yes, we have been working on renovating the Stone House for the past 2 years. We have new floors in 90% of the home, 100% new windows, a completely gutted and remodeled modern bathroom, brand new mattresses, furniture, 90% new appliances, etc. The furnace was actually installed, brand new,in 2018. I understand it is frustrating that we are needing to supplement the heat in the far bedroom with the infrared heaters. My husband plans to get the heat balanced with diverters, plus continue to make additional detailed updates in the near future. The dining room fireplace pilot light needed to be lit to get the heat started. I wish we would have known and we would have sent someone out again to assist you. It is working fine and dandy now. The next time you visit, you will continue to see improvements. Hopefully, the weather cooperates so that you may enjoy the pontoon boat as well. Sincerely, Cara

Great property

We really enjoyed our stay at the house! We loved the bonus pontoon boat! The house was the perfect size for the 6 of us! One thing that was lacking was the cleanliness. You could tell the bathrooms were not cleaned the way you’d expect them to be there was still bar soap stuck to the soap holder and the shower floor was slimy. Other than that it served it’s purpose well!

Property was great for two families (4 adults, 3 kids). Plenty of space for everyone for both lounging and sleeping. Kitchen had everything we needed for meals. Good amount of privacy but close to the gas station. Grocery store and other stores within 15 minutes. Everyone enjoyed the pontoon boat rides and spending the evenings around the fire pit. Beautiful wooded view with the lake in the background.

This is a solid property. It could use a little modernization on furniture and a little maintenance to be perfect but everything is fine and serves its purpose. Beware of the dish washer though. It just falls out of the cupboard.

Family get away

Nice cabin, plenty of space for 5 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 dogs, everyone had their own bed! Main bathroom was very nice the smaller bathroom has a very very tiny shower but glad to have the extra toilet. Nice, quiet and central to many exploring options. Wished the deck would have had a roof over it as the sun beating on it when grilling or just sitting would have been better since no shade, just a suggestion 😉

Didn’t want to leave!!

We loved our stay!! We came up for along weekend and first impression was it is the perfect spot and then we walked in and it seriously felt like home. The master bedroom has the perfect view of the water. Nice waterfront property and you’re not on top of your neighbors! The boys had a good time fishing and the girls relaxed by the fire pit. Great spot

Property is a great location for day trips. House was clean and amenities were as described in the information. We chose this location for its central location between Munising and Tahquamenon Falls. Our last day was spent with a boat ride and an all-day bonfire and enjoying the beautiful location. The colors around the lake were stunning. Definitely recommend this property
