Beautifully restored heritage hotel - the interiors and rooms are lovely and very pretty as well as having all the necessities. The owner was really welcoming and friendly and made me feel at home. The location is great, only 2 minutes walk down the boardwalk to restaurants and a grocery shop. Would highly recommend - a lovely place to stay!

It was a pure delight. The property is gorgeous. The owners are lovely and it was great to wander along the boardwalk, look at the shops, enjoy dinner and the new wine and whiskey bar. Super relaxing night away.

Loved the historic feel about the hotel, really enjoyed the media room! Suite was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. Jennifer and Justin were very welcoming and Justin went out of his way to fix my husbands bicycle!

This property has been operating as a hotel since 1861 and has loads of character and charm combined with all of the modern day amenities. It’s within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The owners, Justin and Jennifer, are friendly, welcoming and helpful. My only negative is that there needs to better lighting in the bathroom. I would highly recommend this to everyone.

The Old Oak is a lovely old lady, nicely renovated and comfortable. Mangonui is a small town, and we found ourselves at a loose end, having booked a two-night stay. Unfortunately, the first night we were there, an attempt was made to steal our car parked directly in front (the only parking available), leaving it undriveable. Not the fault of Old Oak, of course, but off-street parking or better surveillance might have made a difference. For no fault of Old Oak, we are unlikely to return to Mangonui...

Justin and Jennifer were super helpful and friendly. Place has a tonne of character and very clean. Air con was amazing as it was a hot weekend. Bed was comfortable. Property is lovely and relaxing with nice outdoor seating areas. Perfect wine and whiskey bar 5min walk away too 👌
