"We stayed at the Westin New Orleans over Memorial Day weekend and had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our stay, making us feel welcome from check-in to check-out.
The location was excellent and one of the biggest highlights of the hotel. The hotel is located right near the French Quarter, and most of the places we wanted to visit were only a few minutes away on foot. It made exploring the area incredibly convenient, with restaurants, shops, attractions, and nightlife all within easy walking distance.
One thing to note is that there is a train that passes by the area. We could hear it from our room, but it wasn't a big issue for us and certainly didn't take away from our overall experience.
Our room had a beautiful waterfront view, and we enjoyed watching the river traffic throughout the day. The hotel does place a $150 hold on your card and charges a destination fee of about $35 per day. However, it's worth noting that you don't end up paying both separately. As long as there are no incidental charges, the destination fee is deducted from the hold. The fee also includes benefits such as a daily shuttle pass, credits for the bar, restaurant, or room service, and a few other perks that added value to our stay.
Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again. The only thing we hope for next time is better weather, as we experienced quite a bit of rain during our visit. We look forward to returning!"
