A Perfect Spot to Explore and Enjoy Alfama!

This location is in a perfect spot to walk to the majority of attractions you have on your list while in Lisbon, the majority of which are all within a 20-minute walk. An added bonus of the location allowed us to stop back in the apartment during the hotter times of day to take a break and cool off. The comfort of the apartment and view made taking the break enjoyable and added a nice relaxing note to our vacation.We were there at the end of June, so not only was the view from within the balcony amazing, but the apartment is situated just up the hill from some beautiful Jacaranda trees that were in bloom.Estelle was an excellent host; if we ever make it back to Lisbon, we'd plan on staying here again!

Great apartment

Plenty of space, nice kitchen, clothes washer was helpful. Beautiful patio overlooking the harbor and neighborhood, which we couldn’t use due to record rain! Would definitely go back!

GREAT SPACE IN ALFAMA

This is a comforable and hip apartment, perfect for a couple. the neighborhood is safe and quiet, but restaurants, coffee shops, transportation is close.There is a grocery store (Pingo Doce) at the end of the street. The kitchen was well equipped and airy, but the big appeal is the terrace. The view looks out on Corcovado, the river, the bridge, the Cathedral and the Praca do Commercio. Magnficent at night and sunset.I would gladly return.

A great place to stay in a great area

This apartment has been beautifully decorated. You will love the high ceilings, the light, the views. If you like history, you will love the location, it's between the cathedral, the fort and the ruins of the Roman theatre. It's also easy to walk down the hill to Pingo grocery store, to shopping and restaurants in Baixa and to the river. About a 15-minute walk to the famous Santa Justa elevator to Chiado. Going east is Alfama, the oldest neighbourhood. In other words, there is something of interest in every direction. Also, the apartment is very quiet. I would stay here again.

Perfection!

We absolutely loved our stay at this apartment… So stylish and well set up with everything we needed, in the best area, and of course with the magical terrace and views! Waking up to the birds singing in the trees and feeling like we were in nature even though this is the middle of the best part of Lisbon was just incredible. Totally perfect for us!

Old Portuguese Charm

Great old, Portuguese-style place, beautifully decorated. Place looks like the photos. Quiet location, great views, and very walkable to sites and restaurants. Big bookshelf of wonderful resources—tour books, guides, restaurant books, etc. Loved sipping wine on the spacious deck. Place smelled and looked clean with the exception of the bathroom which had black mold around the sink and shower stall.

We love this apartment

My wife and I stayed here for over a month, it is probably our favorite vacation rental of many, many. Great views from every room. You see the Cathedral while sitting on the couch. The Roman Theater is just a few doors away. The whole apartment is beautiful, but kitchen terrace is special, particularly at sunset with the sailboats on the river, the starlings and then the bats swirling through the courtyard, the lights of the city and the bridge coming on. It is located in the ancient Alfama neighborhood, but even though it is right in the action, it is very quiet and peaceful as the apartment itself is up a hill and does not face the street. The owner Estelle was a pleasure, she always responded promptly to any questions. One thing to know if you do not like to walk or have mobility limitations, it is near the top of a hill and is a walk from any public transit. But a car can drive right to the front door as well and there is street parking. We loved ending our days with the lovely walk, the hill is not difficult, and it is one reason why the apartment is so quiet and peaceful but just something to know about. For us, it could not have been better, we did not want to leave. We own an apartment in Lisbon and will still want to come back and stay here!

Presentation unacceptable

Nice area. 5 min walk to eateries. Supermercado is a 10 min walk. Easy check-in. Amazing view. Accurate photos except lounges were covered with blankets as protection. Excellent range of amenities. Generally the apartment was clean but in the Bathroom: There was a used bar of soap in the shower. At the basin was a dispenser with 5 mm of soap in it, and another dispenser with such diluted soap 6 pumps were needed to get any suds. Bedroom: The bed was badly made, then the linen looked and smelt used?! I laundered the linen myself to ensure it was washed hygienically. After washing it all I discovered we had a queen size duvet but double size cover. So we used the cover as a top sheet instead, as it left us uncovered at the sides. Photos were sent to the owner. Owner's response:"Oh I am very sorry because _____ could called you if I knew it and pass there again"...."Sorry this unconvenient generally I am there to meet my guests and check the apartment".

Très beau et bien placé!

Super emplacement, très central! Beau et propre. Très tranquille, on a entendu des bruits de pas au dessus de nous quelques fois mais jamais assez fort pour déranger. Très belle vue sur Alfama! Les bémols: -Matelas doit être changé, on ressent beaucoup les ressorts. -il n'y avait que deux serviettes de bain et une pour la vaiselle. On aurait bénéficié de serviettes pour le visage et une pour se sécher les mains dans les toilettes.

Great location

Superbly located part way up the Hill to the Castelo Sao Jorge. Spacious with lots of character and a cool kitchen and large patio with an awesome view. Host was communicative and flexible, allowing us to drop off our bags early. Would definitely stay again.

Simplement magnifique

Nous avons passés un séjour formidable. L'appartement est idéalement situé au pied du château avec une superbe vue sur la ville et la mer. Un ascenseur permet de grimper la colline à partir de la ville basse sans effort. Un grand supermarché se trouve en face de l'arrivée de l'ascenseur. L'appartement est très bien équipé et la décoration est de très bon goût.

Bohemian apartment in Old Central Lisbon

It is worth staying in this apartment for the view - of the river and bridge and one of the towers of the Se illuminated at night. And all of central Lisbon is within walking distance. It has a modern and well equipped kitchen. We didn't master the vagaries of the shower but this is not an uncommon experience in old European buildings. For Australians worth knowing that the StayZ app does not always work for communications re access arrangements. But Estelle was immediately responsive when the vrbo help desk let her know of our difficulties.

Beautiful flat, excellent location

The flat was in a quiet, and lovely area. It had a great roof terrace with a fantastic view. The flat was well equipped, bright and airy. It was easy to walk to good restaurants and bars.
