"Room with box bathroom in corner smelled damp, probably because regulation extraction fan in was not working and probably never had as string tied up as when fitted. The bed had a 6 cm foam mattress on a solid wood box base so very uncomfortable to sit on never mind sleep on, but still appeared to sag in middle. No reception, 2 flights of stairs and main door left open, so less than secure. Unsafe and unhealthy."

"Really well situated - just on the edge of the Bastide and about 15 minutes walk from the walled town. Lovely home with a small pool and excellent outdoor kitchen. It had all the facilities we needed. Our host was very friendly and extremely helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here."

"The location to the castle is 2 nd to none. A 5 minute walk is all it takes to be at the castle. We booked for Bastille Day. Spent the day walking around . We had lunch then returned to 514 , showered and changed. Returned to the castle for supper . Watched the fireworks display which was breathtaking. Fantastic location.The room was clean and equipped with fridge, 2 ring hob, microwave, coffee maker ( one pod machine and also a filter machine) Well worth a visit and great value for money."

"We enjoyed the property’s location — walking distance to the medieval town and very close to the Monoprix grocery store. Very clean and good modern amenities including a great kitchen. Parking at Parking Centre-ville was really good and reasonable / free for most of the weekend for example."

"The owners were very communicative and helpful. It was easy to reach them and get suggestions and help. This was a cozy home and a highlight of our trip. "

The apartment itself had everything we needed and included a nice private balcony which added to the ambience. We would definately choose to stay again if we are back in Carcassonne. "Perfect location if arriving by train. We had a fantastic welcome and Sandra was very nice and clearly took pride in the property. The gite was spacious, comfortable, clean and well equipped. We walked to the old city with our 11 year old in about 25 minutes. The old city is magnificent! Having the cafe downstairs for breakfast was really easy. If we come back to Carcassonne we would hope this apartment was available."

"The hotel's location in the center of the medieval city is ideal. It's an oasis amid the crowds that visit each day. As you cannot bring your car into the medieval city, the hotel has an efficient system in which you park outside the city and the hotel arranges for your bags to be delivered. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had a great time. "

"I booked this hotel at the last minute and was extremely pleased with my choice. The hotel lobby was large, clean, and inviting, and the receptionist was friendly and very helpful. Our room was large and clean, and the bathroom sparkled. The accommodation was excellent! The downside however was the restaurant. Our dinners were expensive, bland, and the choices were limited at the buffet counter. The service was good, which helped mitigate an otherwise negative experience. I highly recommend this hotel, but would suggest dining elsewhere. "
