"I booked a one night stay and requested a late check-out during check-in. The receptionist advised that the latest available check-out time was 12:00pm, which was perfectly acceptable.
Unfortunately, there appeared to be a gap in communication regarding that request. Housekeeping knocked on my door at 8:30am. Then, at approximately 11:10am, a different housekeeper unlocked and entered my room without knocking. When I informed them that I had an approved late check-out, they stated they had not been notified. Entering an occupied room before the agreed upon check-out time is concerning from both a communication and guest privacy standpoint.
The room floors were sticky, and the bathroom lotion looked like it had been previously used, with approximately 1/4 of the product remaining.
Additionally, based on my check-in interaction, the reception desk's customer service seemed limited to standard procedures. While staff remained polite, it felt as though questions outside of the routine process were viewed as an inconvenience. This is not something I would typically focus on, but it contributed to my overall impression of the stay.
I will choose Brownwood Hotel next time. The rates for my travel dates were nearly identical ($1 difference, to be exact), and I selected the Waterfront Inn solely for a different experience."
