「We’ve used Hotels.com for years and have always had good experiences — until now. This particular booking was deeply disappointing. The apartment was nothing like the listing described, and certainly not worthy of the 5-star rating shown on the site. It was damp, smelled musty, and there were visible signs of moisture damage — possibly even mold. We tried to contact both the property and Hotels.com during the stay. The property never responded, and despite our detailed complaint, Hotels.com...

The flat itself was even more spacious and well presented than we imagined, and the location was perfect , just a three minute walk to the beach or ten minute walk to the main tourist area . 「The unit was very dirty with food crumbs on the kitchen counter and greasy fingerprints on the cupboard doors. The worst part was the sewer gas smell that permeated the unit that started while we were sleeping. It was so bad we had to keep the bathroom door closed and we avoided going in!! And there was only the one bathroom. We told the host of the problem and got no response at all. The redeeming quality of the apartment is the fantastic location.」
