"Pros - the hotel location is idea for Edinburgh airport, Cons - the room wasn't the best in terms of cleanliness, bed sheet had big stain on corner of the sheets, toilet bed had used sanitary pad and false nails in it still, shower plug was blocked so it filled up pretty quick, there is also work going on externally on the building so a fair bit of noise from outside around 9.30am."

"Wonderful hotel! Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff, extremely clean rooms and very comfortable indeed. The décor is bold but actually works really well as in contrast with the old building. The rooms are much more serene in tone. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but we had some drinks in the bar which were delicious (although a little pricey!). Breakfast was excellent, huge choice and very fresh - make your own pancakes, and eggs to order were a highlight! We will definitely return! "

"Room was clean and staff ensured we were near to the other room we had booked for family member which was great, staff always friendly and willing to help with any needs or requests, breakfast superb as was the restaurant at dinner times, room was very clean and all amenities were clean too, our autistic son learnt to swim while we were staying this time in the nice clean pool which was amazing, absolutely no problems or complaints whatsoever, will definitely be staying again (this was our 4th time so far!) "

"Booked this hotel due to proximity to Waverley station, just a short walk from the station lifts that take you up to Princes Street level. The hotel is currently undergoing a refurbishment so the hotel restaurant and bar were closed but they emailed in advance and offered a free grab and go breakfast (fruit, yoghurt, choice of breakfast pastry, hot drinks, juice). You could also order room service for evening meals and drinks, although I didn’t test this out, I just purchased food in the neighbouring Marks and Spencer Store on Princes Street. When booking the room I made a request that if possible could I have a room that was accessible via lifts or minimal stairs as I have multiple sclerosis and struggle with lots of stairs, staff were very accommodating, gave me a room near the lifts and actually upgraded my room for free, which was very kind of them. All staff that I met at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming and nothing was a bother to ask. I stored my luggage there on arrival prior to check in and on departure prior to check out too which was very helpful. I would stay there again mainly due to the location and friendly nature of staff, I only knocked off a star due to the renovation work and not having access to the bar or restaurant. "
