Great place for a vacation!

It has been a great stay! The host is friendly and the everyone there are very welcoming.. Attractions are not that far off, could be accessible via public transport.. Recommend the place, especially if you're travelling alone..

朝食もあって、良かったです。

エアコンのすぐ近くの窓際で、多少の騒音がありましたが、水やコーヒー、朝食（セルフサービス）付きでこの値段は、とても良かったです。地下鉄の駅が最寄ですが、京都駅から歩いて行けました。

看板違い他

用意されていたのは、郷土料理の朝食ではなく、パンとコーヒー、牛乳のモーニングでしたが美味しかったので看板違いでしたが良かったです。 二段ベッドの壁側に空間があり、上のベッドで物を落とし、下に宿泊者がいると拾うことができません。(枕元にメガネを置き寝ている間に落ちて困った) 京都駅に近く便利ですよ！

Stayed for three nights with our 12 and 9 year old. Room comfortable - double bed under bunks for children. Clean, friendly. Breakfast available bread/toast jam , boiled eggs, orange juice. Very easy for laundry - washing machine and dryer in bathroom - 200 yen for washing machine - drying room on our balcony and roof. Dryer 100yen for 20 minutes - fine to finish drying off after being on balcony. Common room area downstairs with cooking facilities and glasses etc. - we had great fun socialising with a very international group. Happily stay here again - 15 minute walk from Kyoto station, 20 minute walk from Fushimi Inari. Family mart combini 100m away.

Pleasant stay

The hostel is located near subway, it is very convenient. The host is nice, she cooked breakfast for all, and helped to take care of our lugguges after check-out. There's nothing else to ask for.

Comfortable Stay

Stayed for 5 nights in a family room for 4. The room is very small and there's hardly any space to move around. Otherwise the stay was very comfortable. Common areas are very clean and neat. Breakfast is simple and on certain days very delicious Japanese tea rice is also served. The manager is very friendly.

We loved this hotel! Clean, modern and yummy breakfast! Anzy put on a great spread. About 15mins walk from Kyoto station but worth it! The hotel staff were fantastic and we were very happy with their service and how they allowed us a stress free stay! We were also able to park our bikes at hostel, nice and quiet hostel, calming music. My two sons n i will be back again. Thank you for a lovely stay 😍

Amazing!

I had a lot of fun at hostel Ryokan! When you are traveling alone or as a small group I recomment this staying. I stayed for 19 days. The staff was nothing but friendly and helpfull. The owner even ordered a taxi and bus for the travel back home. During my stay I made a lot of new friends across the world and I am certain I will visit this hostel again.

京都駅からそんなに遠くないです。

京都駅から歩いていける距離だと思います。建物は住宅地の中にありましたがすぐに見つけられました。 ホステルもきれいだしスタッフも丁寧な対応をしてくれるので快適な滞在ができました。

Small hostel outside the downtown with HEART!

So, over all, Hostel Ryokan was amazing. Going down the list: The service was phenominal. My friend got sick while there and Chika, the owner, made him soup. Over all, Chika is amazing. She is so warm and kind and makes you feel welcome. We were allowed to check in early and check out late, which was supremely generous of her. So 10/10 for Service. Cleanliness was top notch. The main room was a bit cluttered, but everything was spotless. 10/10 for Cleanliness. The beds in the hostel were great. Long enough to accommodate my tall friend, warm enough for my chilly self, and very comfortable. We did rent a private room, so I cannot speak to how sharing the common bedrooms were, but we never heard a peep from them, so I suspect they were quite peaceful as well. 10/10 for Comfort. As I mentioned earlier, the common room was a bit cluttered, and the building was certainly nothing to look twice at from the outside, but overall the condition was very satisfactory for the price-point. 8/10 for Condition. So, the one poor point is the location. You are way outside of downtown Kyoto (though you are quite close to the Thousand Gates hike), but the good news is that you are only two blocks from the subway station, so getting around is a breeze. We did not mind having to take the subway into the downtown (only two stops), but the area still is not that scenic. 6/10 for Local Area. I hope to stay here again when I next visit. 10/10.
