"What an incredible stay for us. First time to a ryokan (i.e., traditional Japanese inn w/ onsen). What an experience! Hotel is somewhat confusing to navigate, but that is part of the adventure. The public onsen was incredible (note: they swap the male and female sides, so pay ATTENTION!). The room we stayed in was "traditional" in that we had five futons atop tatami. Haven't selpt that well in a long time! The in-room onsen was a bit old school (basically a deep tub), but still oh so magical....

Turn out only shared outdoor bathroom and toilet is available . Maybe it’s because Staff don’t speak fluent English but it’s fine . I know my husband plans to write a longer review but until that happens, just know that this lovely little gem is exactly that. The staff went above and beyond to meet our every need. The villa was beautiful as was our outdoor onsen which I wish I could have taken with me. The real stand out for us was the staff, their kindness and the quality of the food. We were truly blown away and agreed that we had some of our finest meals here. On second thought I wish I could bring Chef home with me....

As soon as we got off the bus, the very nice and attentive staff met up with us at the stop and began checking us in and welcoming us with some delicious tea. We were promptly led to choose a traditional robe robe/yakata and led to our rooms after the tea. The rooms are very well kept and was spacious. The ocean view we had was beautiful. There isn’t much to do nearby, so it’s really a place to relax, enjoy the onsen, eat, sleep, read, and unwind. I highly recommend booking the half-board option since there are very few dining choices outside the hotel. We had a room with a private bath, which was wonderful.
