"Wow what an unforgettable experience. We had a wonderful time at the ishinoya izu nagoaka ryokan. We booked a traditional room with a private which was ideal because I have tattoos and the public baths were under renovations. We still had an amazing time. The food was excellent and we just relaxed and checked out the surrounding areas. We were here for two nights from constantly moving around across Japan so it was great to relax. We had a shuttle bus pick us up from the train station, however we missed our shuttle on our way to the train station due to waiting for other guests to check in before we could check out but the hotel provided us a taxi to the train station which was we thought was so thoughtful. The service was exceptional, and would highly recommend staying here for a few nights."

"We stayed here 11 years ago when our kids were little and loved every bit of our stay, this time we booked even more nights and still the same, relaxing, wonderful people. Love the onsen! The river view. There used to be large koi fish in the river that you can see right from the rooms, now they are further up the stream. The place is well kept, very clean. It rained for 2 days when we were visiting, I love that they had shoe dryer available. I also left my shoes on the shoe shelves and they were able to locate it and deliver to me in Tokyo the next day. I’m so grateful. We will definitely stay there again next time we visit Japan. "

"Very spacious room with private onsen at an affordable price. Nice half board at the restaurant with Mt Fuji view. Check in was a bit troublesome as you have to go to the guesthouse at the far end which is a bit of a distance from our hotel room. But it's walkable and got shuttle bus. You can use onsen at other property in that area too."

"The shower head is not adjustable so only very very tall guests can enjoy a satisfactory shower. I am 5 feet tall. The hotel shuttle bus service is good but can be excellent if one/two more ride/s can be added between 5pm and 7pm from the train station to the hotel."

"My spouse and I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Izukyu! I'm already planning to come back later in the summer. My Japanese is limited so we really appreciated the staff doing their best to explain policies in English. We stayed in a Japanese style room, it was huge and had everything we needed and more - and the view of the ocean was fantastic! We also took advantage of the private onsen, highly recommend. Buffet breakfast had a ton of great options, and we appreciated how large the dining room was. There is a 7/11 next door and the beautiful beach is right across the street! I highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in this area!"
