Top Kailua-Kona Hotel Reviews
Holua Resort
10/10 Excellent
"The rooms were very clean and spacious. I loved kitchen area with all necessary amenities and we were able to make breakfast during the stay. Love the relaxing environment in the resort."
Kona Coast Resort
10/10 Excellent
"Clean room and full amenities"
OUTRIGGER Kona Resort & Spa
8/10 Good
"Facility is a bit outdated. Loved the power/heated toilet! Bathtub was significantly chipped and has seen better days. Room was good sized, bathroom was nice. In-room mini fridge and coffee service was a plus. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The 'adult' pool is in the middle of the buildings, which means it gets VERY limited sun. The 'everyone' pool is shallow--I don't think it got above 3.5 or 4 feet--and the water temp was in the 90s. The sandy zero-depth entry for the kids spread pebbles everywhere, not fund for us old folks who don't walk around outside that often with no shoes on, and especially not on rocks."
Aston Kona by the Sea
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful view, beautiful pool, nice sandy area, very cool lava pool."
Castle Kanaloa at Kona
10/10 Excellent
"Very clean property with friendly staff."
Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort
8/10 Good
"Beautiful property, individual thatched-roof homes feel very authentic and very much vacation vibe. The restaurants are good (there are three - the Moana main restaurant, then two beach restaurants) but the cocktails were inconsistent. The breakfast buffet is excellent but expensive at $60. The water sports are limited. The front desk service was also inconsistent - a long check-in experience but then very helpful during the stay. Two beautiful pools. Gorgeous property. Excellent spa with great massage and plunge pool (hot and cold). Spa access is free even without a treatment Careful when you book to note if your room is ocean view or ocean front. And note that there is a $95 per room per day resort fee"
Club Wyndham Mauna Loa Village
10/10 Excellent
"Our August stay (after LaLa) at the Club Wyndham Mauna Loa was great! Recommend to others. Location: two blocks from Keauhou Bay where you can book many water activities like boat, fishing, kayak & snorkel tours for reasonable cost. The bay is a bit rocky but access is good for swimming, suggest aqua/river shoes; lots of fish. (Negnote: the locals should pack out there beer cans/trash at the BBQ area; yes we made a cursory attempt to pack some cans out.) Locals craft market fair nearby is very nice. Staff: Check in staff were great, they have a small snack/drink area. It is an established timeshare but no "hardsell" sales were made. Caleb was actually really helpful with info about the property with local grocery, food, activities, info etc.; Thanks. Accommodations: Our 1 bedroom suite for 4 was great, clean, functional, nice kitchen, A/C (living room & bedroom), 2 flat TV's, refrigerator/plenty of ice, blender, coffee maker, ceiling fan, comfy bed. Parking was underground - shaded. Many nice pools to choose from, water is warm, great sunsets, lots of colorful birds. Golf, tennis, racket & pickle ball available. We rented a car but; onsite bikes with baskets & you could go to to local markets. A shuttle/carpool to Kona would be nice where parking is $12.50 per hour NO CASH - no cell service NO PARKING; goes for a lot local beaches too. Embrace more Solar Power. Beware of the billionaires kicking out millionaires. Mahalo."
Mango Sunset Bed and Breakfast
10/10 Excellent
"Mango and Sunset sits on an active coffee farm and the property is stunning. We are already looking forward to our next stay. Kriss and Gene are warm and lovely hosts. As someone who has allergies one of the reasons I booked our accommodations at this unforgettable bread and breakfast was the hypoallergenic bedding and hardwood floors. The breakfast menu is thougtfully planned and scrumptious! Bonus: beautiful roosters and chickens as well as cute, friendly kitties who roam the property!"
Royal Sea Cliff Kona by OUTRIGGER
8/10 Good
"Our room was lovely, very spacious for a 1 bedroom apartment. The grounds were lovely and well maintained. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We didn’t have a car, so we had to catch the local bus to the nearest shops. The bus was free which was an extra bonus. The Royal Sea Cliff is a nice resort."
