"This rental exceeded expectations. First off, the place was impeccably clean when we arrived, including the outdoor areas of the porch and fire pit. There were so many nice touches from the soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the primary bedroom to little packets of ketchup, which were much appreciated on burger night. The host was communicative and check-in was a breeze. Would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a getaway in the mountains."

"This was a last minute weekend trip to the mountains for us. The property was perfect for our needs for this trip! Plenty of space for us and the kids and had everything we needed. The entire house was immaculate and appeared to be newly renovated, and is one of the best properties we have stayed at!"

"What a lovely place to stay! Host was quickly responsive to questions, and goes above and beyond with providing all amenities. Check in and check out were quick and easy.The cabin is nestled in the woods of a huge nature preserve with many hiking trails. We felt like we were out in the middle of nowhere, and yet it was within a few miles of a major road, and within 30 minutes of a town. I have already recommended it to friends!"

"This was my second stay here for a mountain biking weekend. Great location, obviously closer to DuPont trails but that being said, it’s only 20 minutes to pisgah trails. Very comfortable and clean house with everything you need. Excellent communion with the owners. Covered parking in front of the house and a storage room attached to the home for bike and gear security/storage. We look forward to coming back."

"We had a wonderful stay! This house definitely gives that cozy cabin feel while also being spacious. We've never had a rental with such a large bedroom! It’s built for views from every room, and the huge screened in porch and outdoor deck get you into the trees. The kitchen was ready for all our needs. Windows on all sides were opened wide for breezes and forest sounds as we slept. The CD collection encouraged us to stay unplugged. But the biggest highlight was the birdfeeders. Keep them filled with seed (it's supplied), and look up a hummingbird nectar recipe - you won't be disappointed!As for the Host - Mr Childs is a Champ! This is not just a rental, it's a place he and his family love and he cares about your guest experience. He went way beyond to assist with every question or need. And he's got lots of area facts and tips if you are interested. Bottom line, he is a super nice person!Special shout out to the Cedar Mountain community, which is small but mighty. If you wonder about being away from a larger town, don't worry! Benefits are being literally in the forest (DuPont), within a very welcoming community, that has just enough amenities from artisan's shops to food and drink. The Cdr. Mtn. Cafe (very good, very fresh food), Outpost (beer, food, pizza, provisions, events), and Distillery (especially for Friday evening bands and moonshine slushies) all do a great job."

"We celebrated my 60th birthday at this property for a long weekend. We had an amazing stay. It was large enough for everyone in my party to have their own room with very comfortable beds and beautifully decorated rooms. Our host, Jessica was phenomenal! She helped with all our plans and needs. She was very attentive and responsive and helped make our stay so special! The kitchen is remarkably equipped. We had all our meals and celebrations around the large dining table that overlooks the back of the home. We couldn’t have been happier with our experience and stay!!"
