「The heating in the room was uncontrollable despite reporting it to the receptionist. The breakfast was very good and the staff friendly. However the selection for dinner was limited and apart from one included side eg a potato section, vegetables were extra」

「If you’d like quiet and scenic, this place is for you. Wonderful hospitality, food was excellent also.」

「The room and common areas were very nice here and felt clean. We loved our room and the bed. Great bathroom and shower. The hotel does have a restaurant serving breakfast and dinner but we felt it was expensive. There’s obviously lots of cafes and trinket shops around in Portree. I will warn that there are only stairs here so big bags could be difficult or accessibility concerns. Parking is right in front if you are able to get a spot. 」

「Comfortable hotel, perfect for soaking up the spirit of Islay. We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. It's the ideal place to experience the unique atmosphere and character of Islay. The restaurant was a true highlight. The chef is a master—the food was exceptional and a huge step above typical British fare. We especially recommend the smoked kipper for breakfast; it was absolutely delicious. Live music by a band at the bar on every Wednesday and Sunday.」
