"This a great place to stay that is in the Victorian era mode. I hope the basic decorum and vibe of the place never changes. It is a throw back to another era and all of the pictures from earlier times in Kolkata and the hotel and news clips are very interesting. Yes there maybe some pealing paint (which to me is part of the charm) but there is a touch of class throughout - e.g. white table cloths, real crystal wine glasses, antique furniture. The staff is well trained and eager to please. The breakfast that was included provided a nice array of choices that were well prepared."

"If you are going for Kolkata US consulate, this is the only hotel good which is 5 mins away from the consulate.and this is the only best hotel there.."

"The property is definitely not same as what it’s in expedia. I trusted Expedia and booked the hotel but it such a bad choice that I lost faith on Expedia. The bathrooms were leaking and molds everywhere, so much of bad smell. It’s such a waste of money. I am so much disappointed with this. "

"The revelation was the roof terrace restaurant and cocktail bar on the 10th floor. Fabulously cooked Indian menu, good cocktails and an eagle that swooped around the top of the building in search of pigeon."
