「Staff very friendly on arrival, and the room was nice and warm. Great views, unfortunately the breakfast wasn't up to standard for me. Ive had breakfast here before and it was much better than my recent stay. Items ( hash browns ) way over cooked to the point there was no hash in it! Overall its a really nice place to stay.」

「First hospitarity was nice,I liked the cute interior of the room.When I was in the room,I could hear the sound of the river and it was quiet.I thought it was a waste that i only stayed for one night.」

「Great location, centrally located in the centre of Holmfirth. Lovely clean room, comfortable bed and a great Full English breakfast. I can highly recommend staying here, would happily stay again. Stones throw from great pubs and The Picturedrome.」

「It was perfectly situated in the centre of Holmfirth with easy parking individual to your stay. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Our room and ensuite were stunning」

「Room was clean and well equipped. Shower screen was coming off its rails but this did not effect the shower itself. The wifi network given did not exist. Phone support were really helpful when I had a query about check in.. 」

「Moved from the bull to the shepherds rest as an upgrade prior to arrival. Out of 4 rooms (party of 4), rooms 10 and room 4 no heating. The bull may have better but I’d avoid the shepherds rest. Also none of the TVs worked in any of the 4 rooms and Wi-Fi password not shared. A shame as the rooms were fine even if the showers are a little small. Place was clean and obviously has been invested in. 」

「It was a cosy cabin with everything we wanted, views of woodland on the other side across the path was the canal, plenty of bars & restaurants to choose from in Marsden.」

「Absolutely charming! The owner and staff outdid themselves with welcoming us later in the evening and making sure to seat us in the quite lovely dining room for a hot meal before retiring to our spacious guest room upstairs. The room was today and had lots of thoughtful amenities: tea, coffee, a variety of snacks, lots of toiletries. Breakfast was very good and served with warmth and hospitality. Definitely a wonderful place to stay. 」

「Hotel itself was little old but it's all cleaned well and the room was spacious. Staff are super helpful and fulfilled all my needs, very professional and gentle. Location is 10min walk from station and easy access. Overall it's a great place with good value. I'll defnetely stay again. 」

「Room was ok . Dull dark decor and v small television. Table light worked but wonky and carpet threadbare in some areas . Clean . Check in was not very welcoming , lady seemed rushed and no pleasantries . Asked for more milk which didn’t get . Meal in the evening was good . Sticky toffee sauce was more like weak caramel. Decided not to stay the night so returned home so can’t comment on breakfast. Staff serving meal v good . 」
