"My boyfriend and I were traveling in Sicily spontaneously, so we usually booked the hotel on the day of arrival. The hotels in Catania are not cheap, B&B usually doesn't have a front desk. Umberto House is the only one we find with 24 hour front desk at a reasonable price. The boutique hotel is newly renovated, the high ceiling and the ambience were great. "Loved my stay from beginning to end. The property uses self check-in, which was great because I arrived at an odd time. It went very smoothly. The instructions they sent were very detailed. My room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was quick, convenient, and tasty. The outdoor seating area was lovely. I can’t say enough good things about the property. "

"This was a beautiful hotel in a great location. Clean spacious rooms with a sea view balcony. Walked to the waterfront, shops and restaurants. "

"We had a family room (4 persons) packed with beds so hardly room to move around between the beds. No facilities like a water cooker or coffee machine, neither a table and chairs in the room. WiFi/internet is pretty slow. The public room with fridge, coffee machine etc was messy, bins were full and we were only allowed to make use of the fridge. The host is very precise (check-in took 30 minutes) but foremost very present like a police officer whole day offering not fresh fruit, locking the door...

"Our room was fantastic and just as advertised when we booked. I highly recommend this as a romantic getaway for a couple. The views from the Balcony were amazing and the Jacuzzi was very nice to enjoy after a long beach day."

"It was too many high steps to walk for elderly people. I am 78 and had a really hard time to walk there. My feet were swallowed. Better for young and athletic people."
