Escape to our serene, sunlit cottage on 27 private wooded acres—just 8 minutes from downtown Freeport and 10 from Brunswick. Surrounded by nature, with large windows and peaceful views, it’s perfect for relaxing, exploring, or shopping nearby. Sip coffee with deer, dine outside with our friendly chickens, and fall asleep to owls (and the rare mooing moose!). Family-friendly and fully stocked for babies and kids—just ask!
The space
Tucked beside our primary home but fully private, this cozy, light-filled guest cottage offers a peaceful nature retreat just minutes from downtown Freeport and Brunswick. Surrounded by trees and filled with sunlight, it’s the perfect spot to unwind, explore, and reconnect—with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The lower level features a spacious bedroom with a queen bed and twin bunk beds, complete with non-toxic mattresses and bedding for a healthier rest. All of our cleaning products are non-toxic, too—so you can truly breathe easy.
Head up the main staircase to the sunny open-concept living area, surrounded by windows and forest views. Here, you’ll find:
A fully equipped kitchen
A cozy sitting area
A wood-burning stove (yes, it works!)
A dining table for shared meals
A full bathroom just off the main space
Climb one more level to reach the airy sleeping loft, featuring a comfy queen bed and skylight. Please note: this space is open to the living room below and not suitable for young children.
Outside, enjoy the sounds of birdsong, dinners on the lawn, and the occasional visit from our free-range chickens—watch your snacks, they’re sneaky! Our 27-acre property offers space to roam, play, and unwind.
We live in the main house next door and are happy to help with anything you need—but we’ll always respect your privacy and give you space to enjoy your stay.
Guest access
Guests have full access to the cottage and the lawn directly surrounding it—a perfect spot for outdoor dining, relaxing in the sun, or watching the chickens roam by.
You're also welcome to explore our 27 acres of private woods. While we’ve started clearing a few trails, much of the forest remains wild and untamed. If you choose to explore, please take proper precautions and be mindful of uneven terrain and natural hazards.
The cottage is located on a quiet private dirt road, which we share with a few neighbors. We ask that you drive slowly and carefully, especially at night, and keep noise levels respectful, particularly in the early mornings and evenings.
