"On our arrival, we were greeted warmly by the receptionist who informed us we had been upgraded for our one-night stay. This was a lovely surprise and the room was fabulous. The bed was huge and very comfortable. We felt so relaxed and didn’t leave the hotel. We booked in for a meal which was fantastic. It was a busy evening as there was a party but it didn’t impact on our evening. The service was excellent and staff were attentive and accommodating but not overbearing. The next morning we enjoyed a great breakfast with various choices - full English for us, as always. Probably the only criticism I could make was that the coffee could have been hotter. We will definitely return and are already booked in for a night in December when visiting family again."

"Very comfortable stay and great value for money. The inn is old and charmingly rustic, the rooms are quite basic, but are perfectly comfortable, the staff are friendly and the location is great for Exeter visits."
